We are very happy with this toy. It seems reasonably sturdy (some parts do come apart, but the toy seems to be designed in this way and the parts are easy to attach again). The manufacturer's age limit of 5 years (+) is definitely right. We bought this toy for our 4 year old son and he needs our help in order to transform his Bumblebee into a car/robot mode. It did not take me long to learn to do it, though (and I am a woman!). If you are buying this toy for a young child (4, 5 years old) then you must be prepared that he/she will need some of your help with it. In summary: great toy, lots of fun.

Right i decided to spoil my 5 yr old son this year & bought him Six Transformers in all lol.
THis was a slight oversight as now i seem to spend most of my life transforming them into their differant shapes. oops
Just want to say to anyone with young children these are a little too fiddley & difficault for younger children. My son loves the toys very much & so far have easily stood up to the Hammer he puts them through.

Overall he loves the toys so thats all that matters, but they are very hard to convert......hope this gives fair warning!!!
