For a start i will say i love this game.The moment i started playing i loved it.

It is easier if you have more sims.I started with one sim and then discoverd that everyone said it was easier with more so i am starting again.

TIPS;

FOOD
*coconuts are a great thing to have as a basic(so are bannanes)
*when fishing with a rod wait for the bait to come in for more chance of catching a fish.
*harvest all edible food possible.
LEAVES AND WOOD AND STUFF
*harvest all you can when still in good mood.
*some non edible stuff is good for making.
*some things can only be found in one place or beach/island
FIRE
*cook alot of what you eat and it will put up your skill. ... Read More:

I had been looking for this game for ages and when I finally bought it, at first i was confused and fustrated with having to look after my pets and also my sim. But i soon caught on and now i can play it for hours.

Not much is different from The Sims 2, except some items of clothing, hairstyles and so home materials and of course not forgetting the addition of a furry friend to your home.

You can choose from many breeds of cats and dogs and even get mixed breeds through randomize or through breeding ( you can not breed a cat with a dog of course ), you can even give your pet a jacket, shoes and a hat or glasses (much like those annoying few who actually do dress up their animals). this game is a classic!. theese are like virtial people to feed 'switch'take to toilet e.c.t well you start off in a house with your mom then you get a job and house. work through houses and retire to the ultra party mansion!!.you dont have to walk to shops to get suplies the shop is on your pause menu buy with simoleons (money) see ya.

Well the Sims 2 for PS2 was never going to be a brilliant game when it was missing some vital things the PC game had for example you cant age,die (unless of course you get an electric shock from the DJ Booth)have a two storie house, have kids and there arnt enough Sims to make friends with. It takes cheats to make it fun even though i am usually able to play PS2 without cheats. It just isnt fun for long enough. so once you have finished the game and unlocked all the clothes, recipies, objects and locations its just boring! If you want to buy a game that you will complete in less than 2 weeks and will be thrown on a shelf in you room until you forget how to complete it and finish it again until you go threw it all again then i would advise you to buy it....But ... Superb!!! Buy this is it is fun, stylish, cool, graphicly sexy to the eye and is well worth the money.

I got one with no manual and it is easy to follow. So don't be put off by used games without instructions.

If you get bored many cheats are on line and you can access them easily via the Gnome cheat to get some great fun filled hours aout of Urbing around.

Fantastic as the 9th Doctor would say!

if i didn'tlike my ps2 so much i would have thrown it out the window. rollercoaster building is so bad i cant bellieve it. it limits your height and it even lets you go underground then when you say finished it says you can't have it so you have to delete all the track after that part to change one particular thing its just so annoying. you dont even build it on the ground at first you go into this wierd blueprint thingy. i played it for 10 minutes then i got bored.i wouldn't even class it as a game it feels like work. even if your lucky enough to finish a ride you take it for a test run and someone either goes missing,throws up, passes out,gets nausea, suffers ... After having Theme Hospital on PS1 my expectations for this were high.
To begin with the game was fun and exciting, building new rides etc was fun. Like someone else has said on here.. the little Scottish helper in the bottom right of the screen keeps popping up... and you cant shut him up!!!!!! it gets very frustrating as he repeats things you've heard before, and things you already know. I found it really hard to build the roller coaster- not being able to make it join, and objects below keep getting in the way.
Once you've built all the rides, it becomes boring and irritating- with people being unhappy and getting into debt. Theme Hospital is much better.

The graphics are great but this game is spoiled by the very restrictive time limits and kills that you have to achieve, if you fail you are sent back to start all over again..and again ..and again. (yawn)

Update!

OK. Two days after getting this game I've finally solved the problem. This it after all an amazing game. But what it lacks is a cheats option to allow non-serious gamers like myself to blast through the whole game quickly without spending too much of our free time. The solution I found is simple: I bought the Xploder cheat cd for £10 from Amazon. It arrived today, and now I can run this game (and other ps games) with full ammo and in God mode with any plane).
