Ok, a lot of people have been comparing this heavily to San Andreas which is fair enough as they are in the same series of games. The most notible comparisons being that of the things that have been left out, i.e taking over businesses etc. Although i agree with this, in Rockstar's defence they have had to build this game for a brand new platform. I think this is a very good first GTA game on the PS3. I try and look at it from the point of view that Rockstar have effectively had to start again. When you think about it, San Andreas showed that Rockstar had clearly got to grips with programming the PS2 as it was coming to the end of its lifespan. Use of HDNL courier very much appreciated as have 100% record with them, no problems.

As for the PS3; outstanding.

I was at first slightly sceptical and regretting not purchasing an xbox 360. However i had researched thouroughly and the PS3, on paper, fitted my needs better. It has not disappointed. Only time will tell how well it fairs for reliablity, but for now, i couldn't be happier.

Recommended Games (download the demo from (free) PS Store and try them, I love them: SKATE, Burnout Paradise, NFL Madden 2008, GTAIV, Smackdown vs. Raw 2008.

HDMI Cable (PS3)

As demonstrated on the last gadget show, there is no point whatsoever in buying an expensive hdmi cable,so if you want HD for your HD telly and are gonna connect it to a PS3 or any other HDMI source, it really doesnt matter which you use as all it does is send O's and 1's digitally. so you either get the picture or not, they are allgoing to be the same quality whichever cable you buy.
If this works when you get it and you have payed the minimal amount possible,then i reckon it's a good purchase for your PS3.
Personally, when I bought my PS3 from currys last year, I asked them to throw me one in FOC, and they did cos I bought my telly from there too, which was good, the cable was priced at £10, so not bad for nowt. In summary though, they're ... Read More:

This control pad will soon be redundant and soon Sony will stop making them, if they havent already.

The pad feels light and flimsy. The controller does it job like every other playstation pad before it which isnt a bad thing. Yes its more refined but thats to be expected from the next gen.

The motion technology is also quite nice but i've recently imported a duel shock pad...
it doesnt feel light, has a nice weight to it and i'm just now remembering just how immersive rumble is.

An thats enough of a reason to wait till duel shock's released.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (PS3)

Any one who enjoys car racing games will probably concede that they by far and large fall into two groups.
1. Arcade racing (IE burnout, motorstorm)
2. driving simulator (gran turismo, forza)

GT5p is touted as a driving simulator, in fact i think the game goes further to claim the most realistic simulator to date.
This is where i take exception, gt has some of the most inconsistent physics i have yet seen in a racing game, even compared to parts of burnout paradise this game fall short.

An example of this dodgy physics is the car acceleration, when driving the same car as the AI their acceleration seems far in excess of my own, there have been other examples but i have not committed them to memory as i have not played ... Read More:

COD4 is definitly the best game on the PS3 so far, it presents everything you could wish for in a first person shooter. The single player campaign is brilliant, it is a tad short though. The reason i love this game so much is because of the online game. They have set the online mode up absolutly great, the ranking system is great, lots of good maps and great guns which you unlock at different ranks making the ranks more worth while. The single player is brilliant, but if you are goiing to get the game make sure you have online, otherwise you are mising out on something brilliant.

A Bluetooth remote control for the Sony PS3.

Personally, I don't why there has been criticism of the remote being via Bluetooth and that it has to be paired with the console; the fact it doesn't need to be 'pointed' directly at the console means the PS3 can be hidden away and yet remain operable; plus it takes all of one minute to pair up the remote with the PS3.

The remote itself is well built and has the requisite amount of buttons you'd find on most DVD remote controls, in my opinion it certainly doesn't have too many buttons; it also doubles up as an additional controller should the need arise.

The only negative comment I'd make is that it doesn't have a one touch 'off' button to put the console into standby mode.

I pre-ordered this game expecting brilliance, and at first it was. The problem is that when i started to play the game for a while i got quite bored with the game. This is because after a while the game gets exactly the same as before, you start to do the same things over and over. This isn't a game to buy as you will get bored, it is however a game to play once or twice round a friends house.

For any previos GTA fan , this latest installment has pushed all of the previously set boundaries to the limit. Featuring amazing detail in both the charcters and city, intuitive controls, and a huge amount of usefull add ons. For example Nikos life revolves around his friends and mobile phone, allowing the player to take conplete control of how quickly the storyline developes as well as many many interesting opportunities. Moreover small additions like being able to hail a cab, check police files on computer systems installed in cop cars, being able to break into locked cars and hot wire them, performing executions, taking cover in a similar fashion to that of gears of war, astoundingly detailed weather systems (Lighting is amazing!)great strip clubs, getting drunk, and logging in ...
