This game, like many, has both positive and negative aspects. Once again the subtle combat system is both fun and a challenge - those who claim it is mere button-mashing are missing the finer points of combat, and should look again at how they play. Yes, this method will get you by, but to become a great fighter you have to master the art of blocking, dodging and grappling, as well as hitting your opponents in the face with a baseball bat. The sheer range of characters will mean there is a fighter to suit anyone, from the pace of Sonic to the awkwardness of Olimar and Game and Watch, though yet again the Nintendo mascots Mario and Luigi are grossly overpowered. This is a fantastic games idea that is really let down by the fact that it uses BMI to work out what fitness level you are at. This is not accurate on Children and it promptly told my 10 year old daughter that she was obese!! - Not the type of message that young impressionable girls (and boys for that matter) should be getting. (Just for the record, my daughter isn't even slightly overweight for her height)

It is a real shame that it has no way of changing the phrasing for people under a certain age, as after all the whole point of this game is to encourage people who need it to exercise. In my opinion it spoils what could be a fantastic game.

Let's compare the Wii to games on other next gen consoles first. Now don't get me wrong, GTA-SA (not seen GTA 4 yet), the Halo and Half Life series, to name but a few, are some of the finest games ever made. But you can't have a QUICK game of any of them because each stage of the campaign might take up to an hour to complete. Playing them requires a dogged mindset, which can feel like having to tackle a sinkful of dishes when you only want a clean cup for a quick brew. A lot of modern games have the depth, complexity and epic scope of Wagner's Ring Cycle, but there are times when all you want is a three-minute pop song. You get the picture. The Wii fills this forgotten gap in the market admirably.

Although there are games where you don't require the Nunchuck it is always handy to have one or your gameplay will be limited. Easy to add on to your controller and allows you to play a whole range of games.

Really enjoyable fun for the whole family to get involved. My 5 year old son is quite a wizz at all of the games. Disc golf and boules are great and the games are easy enough to play, although hubby said you need to know the rules of american football to make it easier to play it. All in all would recommend it as good value for the money.

One of the best games for wii that I've bought. Features 9 different games to help you practice your wii remote skills. Shooting Range, Find Mii, Table Tennis, Pose Mii, Laser Hockey, Billiards, Fishing, Charge and Tanks. Highly reccomended!

You only get one wiimote in the standard kit wii console and while this is a fantastic controller hence why I have given it 5 stars for fun I think it is over priced as unlike other consoles there is no 'after market' 3rd part alternatives that are cheaper.

I would welcome a reduction in the price by nintendo to make the additional wiimotes more accessible for more people. Your looking at the best part of £150 to get 3 more wiimotes and nunchucks required for 4 player mode. I have got 4 and it really does make play more fun and allow more people to join in.

Lego: Indiana Jones (Wii)

With a 5 year old son I am still struggling with adulthood and cannot resist the urge to have a play with my Wii on a far too regular basis. Lego Star Wars and now, Lego Indiana Jones, gives me a great excuse to spend quality time with my son and still be a kid with computer games ... fantastic! There are those who scorn children with computer games and yes, it should be limited. HOWEVER my son is now far more dextrous and solves puzzles and loves to read and build lego as a result of our "Wednesday Wii" afternoons.

The gameplay is nice and simple to understand and the team play works so well (there are puzzles where one person has to be in one place and the other player has to pull a lever at the same time in order to progress). Other occasions ... Read More:

Mario Kart (Wii)

Having played Mario Kart games for nearly 15 years from the early days of the never beaten SNES version, I had hoped for an improvement on more recent versions of the game, Mario Kart DS excepted.

Graphically and gameplay wise this is not much of a step up from the much maligned double dash on the cube. However the tracks are a little better developed with many secrets to dicover that rewards continuous play.The move to 12 racers is inspired and gives the races a frantic feel not seen since the original SNES version.

The control methods are varied enough to suit everyones tastes. The wheel is a nice idea, if a little gimmicky, that is a little unresponsive and particularly difficult to use on some of th more advanced tracks. I found that the cube controller ... Read More:

I love this game but it can be really tiring so I'd recomend playing it with friends so you get a breather!
