im always careful when buying unofficial controllers, as they never have the same build quality as the official ones. i used to have a white gameware gamecube controller (from GAME) which the sticks just stopped working on after a year (with very little use). so i ordered this controller as a cheap replacement.
i must say that when it arrived the build quality was much better than i had expected. it is a really great shape and fits in to your hand better than anyother gamecube controller ive tried in the past and it has rubber grips on the hand grips and the control sticks (i always found that the C-Stick always seemed to slip under your finger, but non with this one).
if you dont want to shell out for an official controller ... Read More:

I had difficulty experiencing the Nintendo 64 Controller as it has three holding points, and you don't exactly know where to position you're hands! Luckily enough, when I got my Nintendo Gamecube, I got used to the Nintendo Gamecube Controller quickly and impressively without hassle.
You'll find that most of the buttons on the Gamecube controller are easily recognizable. Most of which are as featured from the Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64 Controllers and even the Gamecube's Controller mimic's a bit from the Microsoft XBox Controller!
The only cry I get with the controller is that the joystick, has these circles on top, which are a bit rough and can make your thumb have a itch or two. But I've found out the more you use the controller ... Read More:

I bought one in 2003 and besides the lack of rumble loved it until I threw it at a wall in anger while playing a button basher at Soul Calibur 2. The right shoulder was completely knacked afterward; so if you're prone to throwing things anger think before you buy a wavebird. But I've just bought a new one to go with my Wii because the wavebird is a natural fit for playing GC and VC games on the system. (JUST DON'T LOSE YOUR TEMPER AND CHUCK IT.)

I've tried this wheel with NFS:Carbon, Sega rally, GT5 (tech demo) and GT5 Prologue.
Worked ok in NFS, far too inprecise in Sega Rally, worked fine in GT5 (tech demo) though the pedals were not properly calibrated.
Avoid like the plague if you have GT5:Prelude. For some reason the wheel and pedals seem to work in the main menu but are completely incompatable with the driving. There's simply no response as you use the controls, which is odd as they seemed to work relatively ok in the tech demo. No amount of Jiggery Pokery could get this to run, even after disabling all other controllers (Bluetooth handset and wireless 6 axis).

I was a bit wary about buying this as I've not always had much luck with third party controllers. Like the previous reviewer I bought this to play gamecube games on my Wii, as well as Wii games which support a gamecube controller, such as Mariokart. So far howver, I have been very happy with it. It is a good size, nice and light, and the buttons respond well. A bargain!

Just taken delivery of Thrustmaster universal racing wheel so I can play NeedForSpeed Carbon on my new Wii. Wheel comes with connections for PS2, USB and one other (gamecube?). Although the description says compatible with Wii, it will only work in "Virtual Console" mode (i.e. classic games that you can download) or with gamecube games on the Wii. Completely unsuitable for use with regular Wii games so thourougly disappointed. Will be returning item to Amazon tomorrow.
Other than that, its a very compact wheel and feels very sturdy for its size. Clamps to desk / coffee table nicely and spring loaded wheel feels well thought out. Cable reached about 1.5m so would imagine a bit awkward if using a big tele but perfect for PC or laptops.

These are exactly what are needed for the Donkey Konga and DK: Jungle Beat games. They are sturdily built and will stand up to even the most gorilla-like heavy handedness. The thick rubber skins on top prove very comfortable and won't hurt your hands after Don't Stop Me Now on the hardest setting, but remain very responsive, The microphone for clapping is great, and is sensitive enough so that a mere tap on the side will do. Overall a great product and will give hours of multiplayer enjoyment. You even get one with Donkey Konga, which is excellent value for money.
