If you have five to fifteen idle minutes, then stick on your 2600 and play Centipede. The idea is that you (a block at the bottom of the screen) shoots a cendipede to bits before it gets to the bottom of the screen. The centipede can still live however in bits, so you have to eliminate each bit of the centipede. Worse still, the bits of the centipede can go different ways, as the area between you and the top of the screen is full of obstacles, meaning some bits of that darned 'pede can be up top and some down low.
This is one of the least technically advanced games for the 2600, with the exception of perhaps pong or space invaders, but like both, can be quite entertaining. If you loved it all those years ago, you probably still will now. ... Read More:
