As far as the wife and kids go it has been a complete success and I hope it continues. As far as I'm concerned it was really addictive for the first two days but I have a genetic balance problem and stumbled on the board so I won't be using it anymore even though I need to excercise, i'll stick to my powerball but it is a real success for my family.

Mario Kart is by far the best game for the Wii in my opinion. The graphics are top-notch. Online play is superb and completely addictive. That's really the only thing I've been playing since I bought the game. I'm glad the game went back to its roots and forget a lot of the changes that the Double Dash made. There's 32 courses in the game, 16 new, 16 old. There really are some well-designed courses in the game. Koopa Cape is one of my favourites.
I have to say the Wii Wheel that comes packaged with Mario Kart is a waste of time. I used it on the first game I played and abandoned it after the first lap. I guess it's fun but you need to spend a lot of time in order to get used to it. I now use the Controller/Nunchuk option. It's far easier. ... Read More:

I bought the Nintendo Wii back in March with Mario Galaxy. It's a great console. Nice and compact. The graphics are really good on most games. The menus are really intuitive. It's easy to set up. I do recommend buying a Component Cable for the Wii if you're playing on an LCD TV. The picture quality looks way better through compontent than scart/composite.
I was a bit weary about the controller for a long time. It has its pros and cons. It was pretty fun playing tennis on Wii Sports but it's no good for most games. I bought a lot of third party titles since I bought the Wii such as SSX Blur, COD3 etc and found the controls really hard to use. Third-party support isn't great obviously and it's the first-party titles that take the spotlight on the Wii. ... Read More:

Although I enjoy doing the puzzles, there are certain aspects of the games that render them pointless. The prog does not recognise writing consistently, (4 and 9 are often mistaken for each other), speed counting and reading are pointless exercises and you could be talking gobbledygook and it would still give you a score. It often does not recognise speech, shouting sometimes helps, but I do feel very frustrated when I have spent the time doing the games just to be sent down to the bottom of the graph because of software failure.

A nunckuk is a simple atachment to the Wii remote that gives you extra control over a game.So far 4 out of 6 of my games need it.If it has a nunchuk icon in the top-right corner of the box it needs it for all or part of the game. You get one free with the console, but you can get another for multiplayer. Here are some notes:
1.The control stick has a special feature:you can move it a little bit and it does the action a little bit, like a steering wheel!
2.The upper button is called "c" and the lower button is called "z" so if you see c and z mentioned in reviews you`ll know what they`re talking about. Don`t get them the wrong way round!
3.It fits in your hand perfectly-no need to worry about it being uncomfortable.
4.Don`t put the control stick in ... Read More:

You only get one wiimote in the standard kit wii console and while this is a fantastic controller hence why I have given it 5 stars for fun I think it is over priced as unlike other consoles there is no 'after market' 3rd part alternatives that are cheaper.
I would welcome a reduction in the price by nintendo to make the additional wiimotes more accessible for more people. Your looking at the best part of £150 to get 3 more wiimotes and nunchucks required for 4 player mode. I have got 4 and it really does make play more fun and allow more people to join in.

I have had this console for over 2 years now and it just keeps getting better. I'm not going to get into all the details like other reviews but am a gaming fan that loves all types of games ( have a wii too ), just here to say if you are even considering it - buy it and enjoy.

Again, Amazon delivering perfectly every requirement, speed, quality and a good price to boot!
Thanks Amazon and keep up the good work.
Use of HDNL courier very much appreciated as have 100% record with them, no problems.
As for the PS3; outstanding.
I was at first slightly sceptical and regretting not purchasing an xbox 360. However i had researched thouroughly and the PS3, on paper, fitted my needs better. It has not disappointed. Only time will tell how well it fairs for reliablity, but for now, i couldn't be happier.
Recommended Games (download the demo from (free) PS Store and try them, I love them: SKATE, Burnout Paradise, NFL Madden 2008, GTAIV, Smackdown vs. Raw 2008.

Bought this my wife and from the day she opened it up....SILENCE !!!! except for the tapping of the stylus, but I can put up with that..looking for some more games now !!!!
As demonstrated on the last gadget show, there is no point whatsoever in buying an expensive hdmi cable,so if you want HD for your HD telly and are gonna connect it to a PS3 or any other HDMI source, it really doesnt matter which you use as all it does is send O's and 1's digitally. so you either get the picture or not, they are allgoing to be the same quality whichever cable you buy. If this works when you get it and you have payed the minimal amount possible, then i reckon it's a good purchase for your PS3. Personally, when I bought my PS3 from currys last year, I asked them to throw me one in FOC, and they did cos I bought my telly from there too, which was good, the cable was priced at £10, so not bad for nowt. In summary though, they're all the same so pay as little as ... Read More:
