I had great hopes for this game, especially following on from so many positive reviews. Sadly the game doesn't live up to this hype.
The game sadly is terminally infuriating and with in 4 days the issues made it simply unplayable. The games AI is very poor, players show extremely little awareness of the events around them and do not react to even the simplest things. The worst example of this occurs when players are running back into position they will simply ignore the ball and the game will not allow you take control of these players. This also highlights the awful player change system. I have been a huge fan of pro evo since the original playstation and over recent seasons i have been converted to fifa away from PES. The last few fifas have been good but this is amazing. It has so much to offer...

excellent gamplay which is really like football and often very exciting,

wonderful graphics AND commentary - so much better than PES,

lots of game modes - my favourite is be a pro which allows you to develop a player from club reserves to (hopefully) international star,

great online modes 1v1 play as well as upto to 10v10 play which can get hectic online.

I have only seen a small amount of lag online which is better than PES used to manage.

fifa 09 graphics are worst than pro evo's this year and all fusy fifa 03 better on gamecube
manager mode decent
mii footie match is better than the origial gameplay and you can see they spent more time on that
online is terrible compared to pro evo
gameplay is copying pro evo
can't move players of the ball which is a big let down
fifa 09 is a con
shooting is great on the game and so is the tackling
and skills on the game is the best bit
wait till pro evo 09 as the gameplay is better
the use of Gamecube remote is good stuff
crossing is hard as it's not accurate
if the graphics were better and moving players of the ball this would of been the best footie game on the wii

Lots of people gave lots of review about this when it is not even out, same as demo.

But i am very happy as i have had FM 2007 and 2008, i admit there were bugs but isnt there for lots of other games?

So updates for the game is very useful and it is easily accessible.

So give it a try yourself as people's view are different than your's. I promise you that there will be an challenge, a bright challenege, a darkest challenge, perhap you will be sacked, perhaps you will become a legend.

Buy this game and you wont be sorry.

All I've done for the past week is play the demo non stop!! It's awesome, the graphics are brilliant, gameplay's better than ever! The thing that pleased me most though was the fact that Pro Evo is back to what it used to be like, I mean Pro Evo 2008 was rubbish and Konami rightfully promised a revamp. And they've given us one!! The whole feel of the game is fantastic, after playing the demo I can't wait to get my hands on the game. I don't understand all the hype over FIFA, although I haven't played the new game, I have played a few matches on the demo and I thought it was absolutely awful. The last FIFA game I bought was 2005 on the PS2 and to me the 2009 demo feels more or less exactly the same! SO so slow, sluggish, passing's awful, just the gameplay in general gets nowhere near Pro ... Read More:

I am a big fan of pro evolution but this year with the release of fifa bein nearly a month earlier i thought i would try it out. Big mistake. The graphics compare to a poor pc internet game. The gameplay is some of the worst i have ever played. The fatigue runs out to early and makes the game even worse. I really regret this purchase and think i have wasted my money !!!!!!

Seabass (the creater of PES) as sold all us hardcore PES fans out for mass market appeal im afraid. the once great realistic title is now nothing more that an arcadey mess, if you want realistic football buy fifa 09 (yes fifa is actually good these days just give it a try and see for yourselves) but if you are not much of a football fan andjust want a pick up and play arcade game then PES2009 is for you

Last time I was happy I bought my FIFA copy was back in 2006 with FIFA07. This times the experience has improved but there are some technical issues that I face in a Windows Vista environment.

First of all menu loading is very slow which is probably caused by compatibility issues of FIFA09 with my GeForce 8600GT graphics card. EA Sports should in fact release a patch to fix issues with graphics cards. My system has 3GB of RAM at 2.5GHz processor speed which makes it powerful for such a game. At least I thought, until I was quickly proven wrong after installing FIFA09 on my machine. As mentioned in one of the other reviews antialliasing and reflection effects are not applied in gameplay only during replays in my case.
