I played this game for 2months and it really is a time waster. As you progress with them game youll find that the quests are similar to countless others, and all you are really playing for is higher levels for better stuff, and i say it is a time waster as it is addictive as you will find a need to set goals and keep playing until you achieve them, whether leveling to get a mount etc. But if you want to spend your money on a game just to spend time do it, but beware you may get addicted and your life may take a turn...

The games themselves have been well covered in other reviews, but one thing to bear in mind is that they are constantly evolving, having new content added, being adjusted in various ways. Including guide books in this box is nice for complete beginners, but they are largely out of date or incomplete. The Burning Crusade guide glosses over the bulk of that expansion and only covers the first zone in any great detail. If you want to explore the vast wealth of information to be found about this game then you really need to be using any of the myriad online websites about it (preferably not the ones selling gold and harbouring trojans and viruses!) or the official game discussion forums on wow-europe.com.

First produced for the X-Box, Mass Effect, shows its origins. Much like previous X-Box games that have been ported to the PC or developed for both platforms this title feels neutered and overly simplistic. Which is a shame because the game shows great potential.

There are four basic weapons, Pistol, Shotgun, Assault Rifle, and Sniper Rifle. However these all employ the same basic model, only the skin is different. This seems somewhat silly considering the different physiologies of the alien races. And a missed opportunity to highlight the different combat doctrines of the alien races. The overly simply model continues with the armours and most of the explorable planets, which are essentially the same.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PC DVD)

Ok so I'm a fan of Morrowind so a lot of frowning and comparing went on as I played Oblivion... 'this not as good as that... that could be better' I mumbled as I walked over a hill and saw a procession of waterfalls bathed in the light of the setting sun... And never complained or compared again. As with Morrowind you start slow after a while you get over the hump; experience kicks in and you really start to enjoy yourself. While there is a similarity in landscapes that can get a bit dull with a bit of searching there are many places where the views are just incredible. This is a sandbox game that rewards players, theres a huge number of hidden places, hundreds of side quests; and you can also buy houses if your so inclined. If truth be told, being a huge fan of the original DUNGEON SIEGE I was more eager to play SPACE SIEGE than any other game this summer. Hyped as the next creation of Chris Taylor and Gas Powered Games (both of DS fame), this was supposed to be the space age answer to the upcoming DIABLO 3. Well, all hell broke loose, that's for sure...

The story is tissue thin but this would not have been a real problem (after all, DS with its "simple peasant rising to the challenge to save the land" story was hardly...Shakespeare), if the game were to give immersion a chance. It does not. One never forgets that he is playing a video game. And the moment he might be caught in the action, the awkward controls will bring him back. I haven't seen such bad camera placement and panning ever ... Read More:
