Spider-man: Friend or Foe (Nintendo DS)

My lad played this game for 2 hours and was really enjoying it. The problem was he completed the game in that time. He is not a prolific gamer so those of you who take this seriously could probably do this a lot quicker. My boy is 12 and had bought this game out of his own money and felt really disapointed and that he had wasted his money

Star Wars: Empire at War - Gold Pack (PC DVD)

This game combines both star wars empire at war and the expansion forces of corruption. The game is a mix of star wars galactic battle grounds and games from the total war series. It has simiular domination featurs as total war games but it is not turn based like total war games. It then uses tha battle features like star wars galactic battlegrounds to create a good mix of tactics and action. Overall i gave this game 4 stars as it could be improved in various areas and doesnt quitw match up to the scope of other games. All in all though a good buy.

Soldier of Fortune II: Gold Edition

I've always loved first person shooters and when the first SOF came onto the shelves I couldnt wait 2 get my hands on it. After 2 hours of playing i thought 'Ok I get it you can make games gory, what else can u do'. But when the next SOF came out i decided i would buy it as it was relitively cheap as i got playing i noticed the improvrment: sharper graphics, better gameplay, more gore, more guns,two weapons at a time etc... even the muliplayer mode was brilliant. There is also a random mission generator which is great fun to!
To sum this game up I can only use one word 'BRILLIANT'. A must buy for first person shooters fan's.

Transformers: The Game (Wii)

This was disappointing the controls weren't this best and at times seem to have a mind of there own. Initially the game moved into game play too quickly for the younger players to grasp the controls, causing it to be shelved for a few weeks. Not a fan of games of films and this one proves my point. Overall unimpressed. Much better Wii games on the market

Star Wars: Republic Commando (PC CD)

I recently bought this game to cheer myself up and boy did it do the trick. This game pleasantly suprised me with the quality of the graphics and although the game play is fun it lacks an air of difficulty. Republic commando allows you to control a team of 4 commandos during the clone wars and as another suprise doent contain jedis. You follow the back story line which is nice as it seems the game doesnt have to follow a srtict line to please fans, which gives it an air of mystery, which can only help its overall fun factor. All in all a good buy (special at the price i bought it for) that will entertain you for a while.

Star Wars Battlefront II (PSP)

The fact that one of the best PS2 games came to PSP as a whole game not just a sort of spin-off game is great, the gameplay is the same apart from mastering the new controls which offers another challenge! The graphics are great for PSP and the new challenge mode lets you play as a Rougue Assassin, an Imperial Enforcer or a Rebel in search of contraband.
Alot of the maps have been taken off probably due to lack of space on the disk which limits you to especially on Galactic Conquest, some of the maps have been scaled down aswell and reinforcements count dropped down to a lowen number. In space the bettles are nearly exactly the same with regards to the objectives and flying but you can no longer enter the depths of the enemey's capital ship which I loved ... Read More:

Tony Hawk's Project 8 (PS2)

Another Tony Hawk game, each one expected to exceed the next with capabilities. For some reason this one doesn't. The story-line is probably the worst yet - the goal being to become one of the best 8 skaters in the area to become part of Tony Hawks "Project 8". The only problem being, once you get to the best position, nothing in particular happens. You work through the levels (which arent continually streaming like in Amerian Wasteland) trying to do these stupid goals like "Try manualling about 200m around this impossible track with many corners".

They used motion capture on the real skaters for the "realistic" look. However realistic the actual kickflip looks, the continue to use the traditional "ollie as high as a house and more" attitude towards things, ... Read More:

Thrillville: Off the Rails (Wii)

My partner bought me this game, and I have to say that I was very disappointed. The game started with a promising start, but it is a total con. As another reviewer stated it was very confusing, and I just couldn't figure the game out. Within an hour, my partner was back at the shop getting his money back. My advice, spend your money on something more enjoyable....

Graphics, levels and control are all as good as any of the previous games, but the problem is with the difficulty that comes up.
The primary problem of previous games - the ease with which the game could be completed - has been turned on its head. Most of the goals are completable and are a fun challenge, but too many are nigh on impossible. The 'sick' level of completion is now most of the time beyond the reach of the skateboarder's skill, though this may be corrected by going through the game and coming back to goals. The biggest example is in the classic mode goals, to achieve sick level of which you have to complete all 10 goals in one two minute run.
