Whilst not continuing with John Mullins as the character, nor being made by the same people who made the previous two SOF, this is still a very good game. The game doesn't have many cut scenes and you never even get to see what the hero's face looks like, but it more than makes up for it with action.

The first thing that will impress you is the graphics, especially when you get to the jungle missions, the weapons rock, they aim easily and have a nice feel to them, the AI aren't very bright and are basically cannon fodder, but can still put you down if you aren't quick on the draw. Call of Duty: Deluxe Edition (PC CD)

It's difficult to contribute any more to the positive reviews but the fact remains that COD wipes the floor with all of the other WWII shooters. Furthermore, in my opinion COD1 is better than COD2 as the gameplay has been changed in COD2 such that there is no more healthmeter and no healthpacks so you just have to take cover in order to miraculously heal from injury. This has robbed COD2 of a lot of tension and is why I think COD1 is better.
The Deluxe edition, which includes the expansion pack (more of the same but still excellent) is a bargain when you consider that the price of the expansion pack on its own is often higher!

Guitar Hero: Aerosmith - Solus (Wii)

It does exactly what it says on the tin, its guitar hero aerosmith!

There are some notable songs missing - Crazy, Dude looks like a Lady and (i will whisper) Dont wanna miss a thing! However, in all honesty I dont know how much fun these songs would have been to play anyway, they are good songs to sing, but maybe not so much play on guitar.

I would say that some of the songs are repetitive, but that is to be expected playing a game that is mostly made up of one band's hits. There is a mixture of some other artists ... . The Clash, The Kinks and Cheap Trick (about 12 non aerosmith songs).

Overall, I will echo what other reviews have said.....if you like Guitar Hero and Aerosmith, then go for it!

As many will already know before purchasing this latest Doom opus, the graphics are quite impressive. Yet as most avid gamers will declare, it is the gameplay that truly matters most and to be brutally honest, I found this game to be lacking in many aspects...

An unoriginal plot with concepts snatched from various films and games, what kept me playing until the dissapointing end was merely the hope that things would get better, or even progress at all! Under the veil of nice graphics and impressive lighting effects one cannot help but see the game as a blatant rip-off with its Resident Evil suspense, carbon-copy of Half-life's storyline (if only a little fuzzy around the edges) and a vaguely interesting 'messaging' system where one can read emails ... Shrek Smash 'N' Crash (Nintendo DS)

Shrek Smash 'n' Crash is a racer game. You choose a character and a track and race against others. As you get better more tracks and characters are available. The main trouble with the game for me is that the DS screen is so small you can't really see what's happening as everything whizzes by. The controls are also fiddly. The result is that you soon get fed up playing it. The 'addict'value of the game is nil because you can't see what's going on.

Quake 4 (PC DVD)

In order for most video games to continue into a sequel, they must have been good to begin with, then as a result, the sequel must be better or equally as good to the prior.
So what is so good about Quake 4?
One that any simple gamer should be able to do is say "Graphics are great" and I would be an idiot to deny that. It is visually stunning.
Effects, gore, geometry...Looks great.
But what to make of a game with linear gameplay? Granted it is neccessary to drive the points home, but then it becomes much more restrictive to truly appreciate the game itself.
It was meant to have the ability to explore more regions of the alien planet.
