Best Of Atari: Neverwinter Nights: The Shadows Of Undrentide: Expansion Pack (PC)

from: Atari

March 11, 2005
Neverwinter nights was a brilliant game, on it's own. A fantastic tool, with what I considered a fun campain. That is, until I played Hordes of the Underdark. The origional Campain has nothing on this. It had some pretty unexpected twists, interesting ideas, and *interparty banter*... if you want to take along henchmen, they have their own little stories to tell, something I revel in. I was particularly pleased with them in comparisen to the origonal campain's henchmen.
In adition to this, the epic levels and a few new prestige classes... wow. It was great fun.
And for those who like the Toolset and building their own campains, it also has the underdark setting now. Gotta love new toys.

Unreal Tournament 2003

from: Atari

October 04, 2002
I love Unreal games, and this might be a wierd time to review it but in 2003 I was only 10 and didn't really think about writing reviews, just playing the game and stuff. But anyway, this is the worst unreal tournament game so far, I have to admit, but still very good. The best i think, is 2004 so far. But hopefully 2007 will be even better than 2004 as promised.

Anyway, to the review.
This did prove a surprise when playing not long after playing the original. This one had smoother graphics, completely different characters to play and fight against and wierder levels and weapons. But the wierdness of the levels and weapons didn't make me like it too well, and too be honest i wasn't at the age where you appreciate the graphics ... Read More:

Wacky Races Starring Dastardly & Muttley (PS2)

Real addictive stuff! Mum, Dad and 8 year old son all fighting for turns last Christmas. Great fun for all the family. Pick your car and become your favourite Wacky Racer (each has their own individual strengths and weaknesses), choose from a variety of racing circuits and win the chance to race in the Mean Machine as Dirty Dick Dastardly and Muttley. Brilliant!

What a game, Ihave played all of them for PC so I decided to get it for the X-box and I played it for 29 hours non-stop. Iknow it can't be healthy but I don't really care because it is so addictive and even though I have completed it I continue to play it as much as possible

Riven - The Sequel to Myst

from: Atari

Riven is not a slash-em, gash-em. It is a beautifully executed game with great graphics, and a Zen pace. I love this so much that I hope that I will always be able to have a computer that supports it, I have played and enjoyed it so much. This is more than a game. It is a beautiful experience. If you like solitude, i.e. enjoy your own company, and love beauty, then this is for you. Go for it. There are cheats and walkthroughs on the Net, I could not get past any game without them.
Enjoy and then enjoy again. Then love Riven forever....

I didn't know much about this game, except the rpg element, and at ten pounds I thought i'd try it. It's an original concept, an online rpg without the online part. That's about the only originality though. There are no random battles as such, you know when you will have to fight by either seeing the monster first, or a gate, which disappears to reveal a monster. Since I paid a tenner, i'm not too disappointed by the 20 hours(short life span for an rpg) it took to fully complete everything, but there are some items I cannot even use yet, as i assume you have to buy later parts, which i have never encountered in a game yet. The time trial part was quite good though, as at least it was a challenge, but whether i want to fork out 3 more times to see the story's conclusion is another ... Read More:

Metal Slug Anthology - Ignition (PS2)

from: Atari

July 06, 2007
One of the arcade's most well-known and fun sidescrolling action series ever, from the first game up to the 6!

The aim of Metal Slug gameplay is simple: you control a hero in a sidescrolling, cartoonish version of war-thorn environments, against hordes of enemies. You'll fight these on foot while collecting powerups and freeing some prisioners of war by the way, and you can at times jump into the famous METAL SLUG tank (and on some games, other vehicles as well) and wreak havok on the enemy. And then there's some great boss battles against varied foes. If you're into simple but addictive arcade gameplay, you just NEED to get this anthology ASAP.

'In 1990 an arcade legend was born with the release of METAL SLUG: Super Vehicle 001 on the NEO-GEO MVS arcade system. ... Read More:

Atari Anthology (PS2)

from: Atari

February 18, 2005
If you want to play Asteroids, Space Duel, Tempest, Centipede, Missile Command and Battlezone using the SAME ORIGINAL CODING as the arcade games from your youth - then this is the game for you. These 6 games are the reason why you you would buy this collection, (although time probably has not been kind to these games).

Highly customisable - eg screen views can be customised so it looks like the original machine round the outside or just the inside screen; points for bonuses and extra lives can be adjusted.

As it is an Anthology it also contains (probably all of) the early blocky Atari console system games which weren't that great at the time and certainly aren't great now. (If you want to show your own kids the first computer game: Pong, then it is here as well... ... Read More:
