Trivial Pursuit

Trivial Pursuit is an excellent board game that has been transferred well into this PC version. The questions are actually quite hard and there are 2000 included in the game, so it should have a long shelf life. There are a few different varieties of the game which are quite exciting. Unfortunately it does not have a single player option. It is certainly good value for money.

Cossacks II: Napoleonic Wars (PC CD)

I was a huge fan of the original Cossacks when it was first released in 2001, and I had to wait several years to play this sequel, considering my old computer wasn't up to the job. Sadly though, despite all the new features, this game does have huge flaws and it can be very frustrating.

First off it is worth noting that the game mechanics have been changed since the first Cossacks. While the original was like an 'Age of Empires' clone, in that whoever massed the largest army won the game, the sequel tries to implement realistic battle mechanics. This means that certain tactics can be utilised to defeat your enemy i.e - you can launch a sneak attack on their flanks or rear, causing the enemy soldiers to panic and flee the field. ... Ultimate Games Poker: Texas Hold'em (PC CD)

Hi I got this game for Christmas and as an avid Texas Hold 'Em fan I just cannot believe how poor this game is! It's not worth 10 pence let alone [...]. You'll have more fun playing frisby with the CD than actually playing the game itself. This software may have just about cut the mustard in 1981 on a ZX81 but for the 21st century it is totally outdated badly designed. It's left me feeling guilty for the family member who bought this for me in good spirit.

Don't bother.

OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast (PC)

After recently discovering my old Microsoft Sidewinder gameport steering wheel works with XP (through a gameport on a 5.1 soundblaster PCI card) I thought this would be a great game to try it out on and this really is a fun game - not too realistic but I found it very addictive and it really has got that " just one more go " addiction that I haven't encountered for years in a PC Game. Plenty of options and unlockable features that make it a perfect companion to those spare 10 minutes you might find yourself having. Also not too demanding a game technically, so it still plays well at 1280 x 1024 on a geforce 5600 card.

On the downside, there doesn't appear to be an option to enable the force feedback effects of the steering wheel ... Read More:
