Robot Wars: Arenas of Destruction (PS2)

I liked this game, although if your console is a little worn out it can run slowly and the music may loop every 5 or so seconds. All this aside though, the game is ingeniously fun to play, the make a robot function is great fun to have a play with and once you have made one, you can pit it against traffic cones and the like, or you can take on a house robot. All commantated by Jonanthan Pierce - the REAL Robot Wars commantator. Spectacular maps such as the London arena, north sea oil rig,German dock and many more. I felt that it's rather disappointing successor Extreme Destruction for the PC was nothing compared to this game, a must buy.

There are so many expensive poor quality offerings in the childrens games market, its refreshing to find a title that's as good as this one.
Our pre-school children love Bob's Castle Adventure.
The voices are familiar, the graphics are superb, navigation is very easy, and the range of activities is very generous... there must be close to 15 different games to play.
Strongly recommended for pre-school children.

This game is fantastic, if you are a fan of Robot Wars this game is a must! To be honest I was expecting quite a rubbish game when I picked it up, but there is a huge range of Robots which you unlock and purchase throughout the game including Razor, Chaos 2 and Hypnodisc and some foreign bots from other robot wars (like revolutionist and panzer mk4 from the states). the robot builder is great especially when you have unlocked all the features, but it does get a little frustrating when it goes down to a judges decision and you loose simply cause you can't give your robots any style. The in game robots can be a little difficult to control at first but once mastered you'll be destroying all your mates in no time. Me and my brother couldn't put this game down ... Read More:

What can I say? How about a decent TV show licence does not a good game make! There are a couple of other robot wars games but It has to be said that the GBC version has to be the worst one & possibly a candidate for the worse game of all time! although the game boasts a lot of gameplay features (& I really do mean boasts!) these features different can be finished in less then an hour! Even the 'warzone' mode where you basically fight some of the decent robots from the show one after another untill you're declared the champion is too easy to win! I could go on for about another 30 lines wasting my time saying how bad this is! But I won't I will mearely sign off with saying the game is not even worth a £1.00 in gameplay value which is the most important ... Read More:

I bought this one, amongst many others to get my boy used to the PC and the mouse. At 3 years now, this remains his favourite. There is a wide variety of activities as well as characters. although he has played the games on there for over 6 months, he still finds it interesting and stimulating enough to keep trying new things. An excellent buy

My daughter (nearly 5) loves this game - though the music gets a bit irritating to adult ears, her's are clearly not. Excellent for a long car journey ... or even a few minutes peace on the phone!

A very limited game in terms of game-play, creativity, variety and level of difficulty. Graphics extremely poor. My 4 year old son has played it no more than 3 times.

I think that advance destruction is very good, it has everything, build your own robot and even battle with the house robots. The few down points are that some of the robots are pants and some dont even exist anymore! Panic Attack is probably the best robot although you cant put the robots on its back, you can only flip them. Also, you cant take on the house robots while battling in a vengence battle, which i would love to do. The good points are: Good-ish graphics, good choice of robots and good arenas. I have not got bored of this game, and probably never will!

I was playing this on my laptop, which really couldn't handle anything other than the studio. In the rooftop and underground I found my PC too unresponsive. So Point No.1 - you need a desktop to play AND one with plenty of graphics and processing power. OK, that over with, it is SO MUCH better than Arenas Of Destruction and more realistic (to a point). I agree with many points already made that the house robots are too fast especially Sir Killalot. Yes, it is great fun too when they go up in the air, but COME ON!! Only Chaos 2 could flip a house robot!! And it is daft when the house robots drive into the pit - they would NEVER DO THAT!! I even managed to immobilise Dead Metal by flipping him with Wheely Big Cheese. So that is a questionable point. Related to this, ... Read More:
