. Syndicate Warsfrom: Bullfrog Production Ltd Well, this is a vast improvement on the original game "Syndicate". The graphics are much better, there are far more weapons like the sniper's 'LR Rifle' and the devastating 'Cataclysm' explosives. Voices of agents, enemies and police are easily heard and realistic and the mini-map is invaluble. In the far future, all people have small computer chips that let them live in a very 'Matrix' illusion that the world is all rosy and cheerful. These 'Utopia' chips are forcibly implanted into all people by the all-powerful 'Eurocorp' business to keep everyone happy. Magic Carpet (PS)from: Bullfrog Production Ltd You don't watch Some Like It Hot for its Spielberg special effects, you don't expect a 1966 E-Type to drive like a Bugatti Veyron and you don't expect Magic Carpet to measure up to recent games: it's been out for 12 years. But is still has that great visual atmosphere, the eerie sound and music, the gameplay still gets frantic and many of the levels present a real challenge. One of the complaints from certain players was that it was too difficult. Yeah- well, taking out a Wyvern with Single Fireball while a meteor-flinging Crab munches up your castle takes a bit of doing... One of the most imaginative and efective shoot-em-ups ever: just don't expect it to be Battlefield 1942 or Oblivion. |

. Hi-Octanefrom: Bullfrog Production Ltd A great-hit from Bullfrog, quite unusual from them as they bring us a racing game?! Based on the PC version I think Hi-Octane is a superb game, the graphics are excellent for that time of year (1995) and the gameplay is good. You have 6 tracks to choose from to race on and LOTS of cars to choose from. Unlike most racing game in this one you actually get to shoot the other cars with missiles and all sorts of weapons, cool!!! You go at incredible speed on this game so it impossible to keep in control plus trying to aim at killing your opponent, best to use a joystick more of a real effect! Overall 8/10 as it was an interesting game as rare from Bullfrog but I took 2 away because I can't control it, I'll eventually get the ... Read More: |
