Art of Murder: FBI Confidential (PC DVD)

I suspect the developers had a foot each in two doors during the making of 'Art of Murder: FBI Confidential'. On the one hand the game attempts a light hearted approach to the murder mystery genre by the likes of 'Broken Sword: Knights Templar', with its low graphic violent content, little to no swearing, friendly heroine and more adventurous locations, yet at the same time, the visuals and the subject matter give the feeling they were after a more mature route to that of 'Still Life' and 'Gabriel Knight' also.

What we get is a game that on many cases works adequately enough for fans of both parties, but loses any chance of having a distinct identity that could have made this game stand out of the long list of current mediocre adventures ... Read More:

Sniper: Art Of Victory (PC)

I just bought this yesterday and am already bored with it - the graphics are acceptable and it will run on a medium-level PC. It seems to have bits from other games in it. The music (certainly in mission one) is lifted from 'Return to Castle Wolfenstein', the absurdly damaging tanks in the mission to assasinate the German general are straight out of the 'Medal of Honor' Berlin mission - they know exactly where you are at all times and hit you unerringly with one shot - and I have yet to find out how one is expected to make use of the dagger and silenced pistol supplied as it seems impossible to be stealthy at all. No matter how quiet and roundabout a route you crawl to approach a target from behind, they invariably swing round and open fire as you approach. ... Read More:

Crimes of War (PC DVD)

First off let me say that I haven't completed the game yet so there could still be more for me to experience.

My first impression of the game was that it is a combination of Brothers in Arms meets Medal of Honor meets XIII. By this I mean that it's a war game with realistic weaponry but it has a cartoony exterior which I think takes away from the game a little. Also, the story description on every site is rather lacking and in fact, inaccurate when you start to play the game. When you start playing the game you are told a different story which again, is in very little detail which is a bit annoying.

Code Of Honour: The French Foreign Legion (PC CD)

This game has only two things in its favour: a)it's cheap (under £5.00) b) it provides the novelty of being able to use French weapons (e.g. the FAMAS assault rifle). Aside from this it is pretty dire! You are cast as an NCO in the French Foreign Legion with various missions in some imaginary West African state - presumably, given the presence of the FFL, an ex-French colony. Despite this the enemy seems to labour under the impression that you are American! However, this lack of recognition is at one with their generally inept and semi-suicidal tactics - they usually announce their presence with loud shouts and leap from behind cover so that you can shoot them down. Wings Of Honour (PC CD)

When I installed this game, I couldn't wait to get up their shooting down enemy fighters and bombers, but I very suprised when I found out that there is NO joystick option on this game!! Yes, an air combat game with no joystick control! You control the planes' ailerons and elevators with your mouse, and the throttle & rudder with the WSAD keys. At first, I was going to flog it on, but then I had a go of the free flight, then started the missions. You get used to the mouse/keyboard controls very quickly, and it becomes a very good game. I would give it 1 out of 5 for realistic simulation, but 4 out of 5 for enjoyment. Your commanding officer who gives you your orders seems to be a Yank, which is strange.
