UEFA Euro 2008 (Xbox 360)

I bought this game on the recommendation of a friend, which turned that he slightly oversold it a bit. While playing for the first time, I thought, yes this is a very good game and I would've recommended it above any other football game on the 360. However, upon looking deeper into it, there are many glitches that let the overall game slide, such as a flickering football pitch during substitutions, about 3 different manager reactions that you'll see again and again, and so on. All of these add up to a game that looks rushed to meet the deadline without taking care to polish it all off.
I have to say though that the "Captain your Country" mode of play is definitely the piece de resistance of the game. It will keep you coming back for more ... Read More:

The Godfather: The Don's Edition (PS3)

As a bit of a FPS fan I took something of a gamble with The Godfather and what a gamble it was! I've since racked up 50 hours of gameplay to complete the entire game. Every mission, every favour, every hit. The journey was incredible. Slapping a butcher around demanding a slice of his profits was just hilarious. Throwing hookers out of windows (using Sixaxis motion sensing no less!), beating people to death with a golf club, throwing corrupt cops off rooftops. This game has everything. I couldn't stop playing it till I had taken over every business in NYC. If you have a PS3 and are looking for something different then get this - just expect a few late nights as it's hard to stop playing it. Top drawer entertainment.

The Urbz: Sims in the City (PS2)

Superb!!! Buy this is it is fun, stylish, cool, graphicly sexy to the eye and is well worth the money.

I got one with no manual and it is easy to follow. So don't be put off by used games without instructions.

If you get bored many cheats are on line and you can access them easily via the Gnome cheat to get some great fun filled hours aout of Urbing around.

Fantastic as the 9th Doctor would say!

NHL 09 (Xbox 360)

Command & Conquer: Generals - Zero Hour Expansion Pack (PC CD)

I just had to post any refer to the person who above said this game does not run on a computer running Xp and service pack 2, Simply it does. I have had this game a couple of days now i got it with the Double pack including Generals itself. I installed both Generals and the Zero Hour expansion and have been enjoying it since i got it. Currently playing through the single player i can say it is good fun. I have not had a go with the skirmish mode so i could not comment on that. But the game so far has got me coming back for more. I will be playing through all the different single player campaigns before having a go with the skirmish or multiplayer options. At the price this and the generals double pack comes at if you have the money you should get the double pack as ... Read More:

NBA Live 08 (PS3)

Even thought the demo only allowed you to play 2 teams, for 2 minute quarters and only half a game it was still enough to convince me to buy the game.

This has a very similar feel to Fifa 08, which I also find a great game.

With regards to the 1 star reviewer, all I can think is that they haven't spent enough time learning how to play the game. The game shows you "hot spot" areas where you're particular player is strong on shooting (e.g. Don't use your centre for three pointers!!! Surely that's too obvious?)

I've only played the demo a handful of times, but am scoring sweet three pointers, alley-oops and slick dunks without any problems at all.

Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth II Collector's Edition (PC DVD)

Now we can all appreciate the lort films being one of the greatest cinematic realisations of our time, however, you may now feel the merchandising has been done to death and in some cases your maybe right. This game doesn't follow the original storyline, instead rolls off in another direction following "the war in the north" a story parallel and and relating to the original Tolkien works.

With this new approach, new characters and location can be introduced along with a new building system which differs from the first. I will be the first to admit I love all things to do with lord of the rings (both films and books), but I do recommed this game to anyone who is a RST fan or a lord of the rings game fan as it bring something a little extra to the story of middle earth ... Battlefield: Bad Company (Gold Edition) (PS3)

Speaking as a veteran player (Battlefield series and CoD series) I would definitely say buy the game but don't expect everything to work the way you would expect it to. By the way I'm talking about the online game play. Singleplayer has little to offer as far as I am concerned. Visit the BadCompany Web site and check out the forums you will be able to see all the niggles the game has. Very frustrating to play the game at times. That said when I first started playing computer games a white ball was being batted from one side of the TV screen to the other (Binatone). So hey don't lets complain too much! Go ahead and buy it - it's great really. As many have said before me, if you could combine this game with the CoD4 game engine then that would be a great game .
