I mostly use my Mac for web surfing, email, and working with documents, and have used a PC for many years for all my gaming needs from shooters to RTS. Unfortunately the Mac has always been notorious to childish imps like myself for being crap for games! So, given that I was getting a bit bored of seeing the same movies on airplanes I decided to give my Mac another chance and got this to try out. I played this on a Macbook 2.2ghz dual-core with 2gb of memory, so your mileage may vary.
If you're not familiar with the concept of Lego Star Wars it's a charming 3-D platform game where you control a lego figure modelled on a Star Wars character. They interact in a world made entirely out of lego, where the currency is studs and a stray laser ... Read More:

If you ever dreamed of opening your own film studio, this is where to practice. The Movies is the best Hollywood-sim available. It is packed with features, that will help you manage your studio, from the layout of the lot and the shaping of your new stars to the actual moviemaking.
Actually The Movies is two games in one: One about managing a movie studio, just like various Tycoon- and Sim-titles. And one about creating real movies. With its very extensive features for real moviemaking, where you write, direct and produce movies inside the game - and decides everything from backdrop to credits, you can really make movies. Luckily you don't have to. You can perfectly well choose to play the sim game, without sinking down in time consuming ... Read More:

This Mac version of Colin McRae Rally was announced, uh, almost 2 years ago. I need not say more in that regard: simply not good enough. But then the new "Colin McRae: Dirt" for PCs has a minimum spec of 3 GHz Pentium, and that would be bad news for me.
A few fine race games have been brought to the Mac platform, and I love 4x4 Evolution 2 and Ford Racing 2. Both I have returned to again and again and they are still going strong. They are SPEED pure and simple, dizzying jumps and landscapes whizzing by. Lovely intoxicating stuff. And I never can resist going for the record again or discovering which is the faster car.
Colin McRae has been very popular on other platforms, and I have longed for it.

I wont go into the details of the game, the PC reviews are sufficiently accurate in my opinion. The port to the Mac is exactly like the PC version. I own both versions, so any issue with the PC version regarding silly camera angles don't appear to be resolved in this but I've only played up to the third level (Lost Valley). I'll update the comment at a later date if this proves to inaccurate. The system requirements are huge. Even my new iMac struggles with all the settings on high at 1680x1050. Turning off "Depth of field" and reducing the Anti-Aliasing makes the game smooth to play. The screen on the iMac makes this game a pleasure to play, and it is probably better than on the PC with an ordinary TFT monitor. Well done to Feral Interactive for this ... Read More:

This is a very Total War like game. The control panel is very similar, and the battlefield control system is almost the same.
But... the graphics aren't nearly as good and the Total War games have much more chioce for units.
Naval battles are ok when It's 1 on 1 but the more ships you have the more difficult it becomes to keep an eye on all your ships because if you don't drop anchor the ship just keeps going for ever.
I think Feral are onto something but it feels a bit rushed...
