They may well be a good game hiding in here, but since they've used some senselessly oversensitive copy protection, the game doesn't even work on most computers, and neither does it work on XP despite the box's claims otherwise.

Well finally a war game that hits the nail on the head.This game has absolutely everything that a top class war game should have. Many have tried to copy the old war (board)games and failed..This one succeeds where so many floundered. If you want to know what Hitler was doing in the bunker between assasination attempts...Then play on. In no time you will be haunting antigue dealers for Generals caps and medals..Yes it is that real, and that captivating.Don`t think BUY IT.

World War II Frontline Command

At first this appears to be a very attractive game, the tank models are good and overall the graphics are apealing. First the positives:

The units are very well rendered and the guns all look impressive, certainly the Sherman and Tetrich tanks are appealing, as are the Panzer IV models. The infantry does look good, much better than Blitzkrieg or sudden strike models and the reload timer is a nice addition so you know how long your troops wil be before firing. The maps are a good size with generally pleasing detail and the paratrooper drops are the best in any RTS game around. The interface is pleasing with maps showing you where the action is taking place, for example the tutorials take place near Portsmouth and have the date of the exercise.

Heroes of Annihilated Empires (PC)

I purchased this game and at first as the game does not teach you to play it (at all) I found it a bit tricky, trying to create a base ill have one of them and one of them then suddenly your sacked by 200 undead >.< annoying.
But once you learn to play, this game is awesome.
You ultimately play the role of a single Hero and his development is completely down to you, and if you do it right he is all you need to win, but you also create and control your own army of mythilogical creatures from pagasus, unicorns, centaurs, dragons etc.. and pit your might against the enemy.
The story line isn't too bad though the voice overs are a bit amateur, the concept is unique enough and the conrols are simple and well thought out.

Wild Life Park 2: Horses (PC DVD)

I bought this game for my daughter based on the other review, however our computer which is only a few years old hasn't got Pixel Shader 1.1 or Vertex Shader 1.1 so we've not been able to run it yet. I'm trying to track down this software so that we can actually play it!

I-SPY Fun House (Nintendo DS)

I just bought this for my 6 year old, who is already a fan of the books, PC games, and the TV show (just back on Nick Jr, Hurrah!!). It has a slightly limited selection of the riddles and pictures that you would expect, plus sorting and memory games to play.

For anyone not familiar with the I Spy format: there is a 'riddle' which lists items to find in an accompanying picture - some things are pretty difficult to spot!!

The graphics are lovely, and said 6yo has enjoyed playing it; it has been nice to sit down together and look for the trickier riddle items. Good for reading skills, memory, problem solving etc. It isn't as lovely or engaging as the I Spy Treasure Hunt PC game, but i'd still strongly recommend if for all Primary aged children.
