Shadow of Memories

I played this game for a few hours today for the first time. The concept is very good, but the aging graphics and the lack of any real puzzle challenges pull it down, plus some of the sound effects are just awful. For example, the sound of the blokes shoes as he walks along sounds like someone is hammering nails into wood. But my biggest gripe is reserved for the many characters in this game who talk with American accents yet are supposed to be German residents (In one scene from the 1500s I heard a supposed German resident declare loudly ..."God dar'n it!".
This sounded especially weird since American accents didnt even exist in the 1500s! :)

All in all, this well meaning game feels like a bit of a mish mash, especially ... Read More:

Bomberman (PSP)

This is the psp's first bomberman game and it does not disappoint! The graphics are very good and its in 3D! Different from the other Bomberman game in terms of looks, but this is still quite fun with aload of modes on, different battle arenas and games and wireless multiplayer options and WLAN options to choose from. The controls are easy to use and the game overall is not hard but is quite easy to play. The single player game is fantastic too, but although this is still a great game, it doesn't beat the Nintendo DS games of Bomberman!

Lunar Knights (Nintendo DS)

Slay bad guys, level up, find, buy and upgrade accessories & weapons. The occasional puzzle and 3-D space shooter and two heros - one using the power of light, one dark and mysterious...Nothing spectacularly original but very well done.

A good 20 hours worth of gaming before you enter the realms of real dedication to levelling up. One of the best games i've played for the ds - highly recommended.

Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner (PS2)

I thought this game would be awesome just because of it's price and fast paced looking gameplay. I was wrong. The combat gets boring and you could probably get Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition, Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2 and God Hand altogether for the same price. All of those are a lot better as well.

This game was on the receiving end of a furious slagging from pretty much every games magazine and website going, which is the reason that I never even considered picking it up. However, at the silly prices that it's now available for, I didn't mind giving it a go.

And guess what? It's not bad at all.

It's very old-school. You run through very samey-looking rooms in biggish mazes, but with a very clear map so you're never lost. And you fight lots of other robots. It's violent and simple, and the combat isn't too bad at all, if not hugely challenging so far.
