I've been a HUGE Pro Evo fan from a number of years now. I had ISS Pro on the Playstation, then upgraded to Pro Evo 5 on the PC. PE5 had it all - a true football simulation, whilst having the appeal of an arcade game. Yes, like any game, it had a few niggles, but the ease of scoring and defending were reasonable, and there were enough extras (like special moves and tricks) to keep fans coming back again and again.
All Konami needed to do to make the sequel an all-time classic was:
- update the players and kits;
- slightly improve the graphics;
- make the difference between fast and slow players slightly more apparent;
- invest in some new commentary;
- tweek the referee strictness so that the given/not ... Read More:

Ys was a brilliant game to try (I saw an article in my faithful OPMS2) and well worth the expenditure. Packing together action, storyline and a large extent of interesting interactive characters and things to purchase, ranging from food pickups to armour and weapons.
the main character, Adol, never says a word unfortunately. Normally, PS2 games allow the main character to give their views on things. This game does not. Not once does Adol say a word. You can kill him off purposely on a boss battle or something and hear him yell but other than that, he's as mute as...something incredibly mute.
The monsters have good AI. At the start area, they attack, but then flee, making them ample targets. Further on, you get enemies that attack ... Read More:

When i first played this game i was amazed at the thousands of enemies on screen. And yet as you progress some battles throw yet more and more at you to the point that i had to check again that my PS2 hadn't transformed into a next gen console.
Technical aspects aside however, this is a game that is just fun to play with enough of a strategic slant to save it from becoming a mind numbing button basher.
Choose a weapon (do i need to be fast across the battle feild or can i sacrifice speed for a wider arc of destruction?)
Choose your tactics (do i lead the thousands of troops into the masses of enemies or order them to hold while i crash headlong into fight?)
All in all it's great to see a game still pushing the boundaries ... Read More:

I don't think this is a very successful update of the Castlevania games. It's beautiful to look at, nice to listen to but I just cannot get excited by it.
It lacks the confidence, zest, inventiveness of a great Castlevania title of which there are many. All the monsters are present and correct but the level design is very flat. The more primitive Snes and Nes titles are much better games simply because each new level is a fresh and different challenge.
This Castlevania ultimately is a weak link in the bloodline.

firstly, the workout mode is the most fun as you can just keep going without having to push a button to replay or skip to the next level. secondly, and this is my MAIN point, unless you are playing this game on the GROUND FLOOR, please be very careful about not upsetting the neighbours underneath ur floor (their ceiling) as they may hear ur stomping as ur playing and this can be very annoying to them, especially if they're trying to sleep. my advice is to either play the game when you know they'll be OUT or talk with them to arrange a suitable time when you can play. i'm not trying to be a killjoy, it's a great game (rated it 5 stars) and i hope you have a really nice time playing it but PLEASE be courteous to your neighbours, especially the ones living underneath, WHILST playing it
