Chuchu Rocket! (Dreamcast)

Chu chu rocket, a shear stroke of genius is what id say about it. Its a puzzle game where you have to control a mass of mice known as chu's around the square arenas & guide them into the rockets to safety away from the Chu munching cats. You have to lay arrow markers on the floor to point the chus in a certain direction up,down,left or right. The areanas are at times full of obsticals,cats holes in the floor, more cats millions of chu's and ontop of all that you have to compete for the chu's with either 4 mates or CPU it gets HECTIC!!.Buy this great game if you have a few quid spare as its cheaper than a cheese burger.Oh yes did i mention it has online play?! Project Rub (Nintendo DS)

I was drawn to this title for it's quirkiness above everything else. It looked interesting & good fun. As well as it's quirkiness Project Rub also looked like it would make perfect use of the DS's touch screen & stylus as well. It certainly does that & it's hard to imagine the game having half as much appeal if it didn't have this kind of system.

Project Rub is effectively a series of quirky & often very strange mini-games. Nearly all of these require the use of the stylus & touch screen. Some even require you to blow into the mic to complete tasks. It's true some of the mini-games are not up to much but there's enough here to make it worthwhile & a success. Sonic Adventure DX Director's Cut (Players Choice)

Firstly id like to point out (as some ppl tend to be unfair when looking at this game) that it is an almost direct port of one of the first games to come out on the Dreamcast Sega's last console, making the original game over 6 years old (way before the playstation 2 even came out).
I remember getting a dreamcast for my birthday with this game, and even today i think its just about the best sonic game ever. the soundtrack isn't bad too and even now the graphics are better than some games out there. even if you were to buy the original Dreamcast version, there's not that much difference.

SEGA Presents Touch Darts (Nintendo DS)

Me & the wife got completely obsessed with this game for about a month. It's great fun and the dart throwing mechanics work brilliantly. the only bad thing is that it starts off being quite simple and therapeutic but then suddenly the challenges get stupidly hard. Like having to get a triple every time on round the clock etc. So we gave up and went on to something else....
Watch your screen too or you'll be getting a long mark right down the middle where you went for all those triple 20's. A screen protector might be a good idea....

Shadow the Hedgehog (GameCube)

As a lifelong Sonic fan, who never played on the 3d games until fairly recently, my mind was blown apart by the fact that a popular character was getting his own game with added firepower, something I always wondered about for years, whether that would work in a Sonic game.

Needless to say it's not perfect but it works pretty well when you get the hang of it, much like the entire series in general. You can run and shoot, even though it's not accurate, but its great fun to be speeding towards obstacles and rather than trying to avoid them you blast through them! The more accurate way of shooting when confronted with enemies you have to destroy is to jump and start firing, Shadow will hover in mid-air whilst you fire your shots which aim at a target automatically. ... Crush (PSP)

My first experience with a PSP was 10 minutes of Crush..... I was sold! Already had a Wii (bit childish), a PS2 (don't turn that on just for the odd 10 minutes here or there) and a daughter with a DS, and I really do not consider myself a gamer AT ALL. Love gadgets though and in that respect the PSP controls win hands down (haha) from tapping a screen with a fiddly stylus.... But - back to the game: my PSP came with 2 other games that I haven't even touched yet - guess that proves my point of not being that much of a gamer as well as the enduring pull of Crush. In short: if you like puzzle-y games rather than just downright racing or fighting, Crush will amuse and amaze you. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Enjoy!

Tenchu: Fatal Shadows (PS2)

My fave PS1 game is Tenchu- there's nothing like getting tooled up in feaudal Japan and going out there and slicing up some bad guys! Tenchu 2: Birth Of The Stealth Assasins was a let down from the previous, in that it was just really really cra p.

This game is spin off of the previous PS2 game, Tenchu: Wrath Of Heaven. You play between the stories of Ayame and new ninja character, Rin Of The Beniya. If you enjoyed all the other Tenchu games, then you'll like this one- the only new feature though is that there are names for different types of stealth kills, which is pretty cool, but that's about it in in terms of difference from Wrath Of Heaven.
