Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core (PSP)

Final fantasy VII was and a land mark game and any one who played it will never forget the strong emotional story. Crisis Core acts as prequel focusing on a Zack, a character that was relativly minor in the original game only appearing in brief flashbacks and occassional referances by other characters. Zack is a likable easy going guy in many ways the opposite to Cloud, but through the game grows up from a 'puppy' into a well rounded mature character. The story starts with the disapperance of Genesis, a solidier first class, and friend to Sephiroth and Angeal (Zacks mentor). The major story revolves around these three.

Space Invaders Extreme (Nintendo DS)

I used to play the original Space Invaders when it first appeared in the arcades way back in 1978 and, over the years, have played a great many incarnations of this classic - however, none have lived up to the addictive simplicity of the original game.

Space Invaders Extreme does though manage to successfully update the original and it's one of the few updates that actually works extremely well. I'm really impressed by Space Invaders Extreme and would heartily recommend it to players both young and old - even if you hated the original you'll love this!

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift (Nintendo DS)

Almost exactly like FFTA. Which is what I was hoping for. The Law system is not as harsh as it was and some other small aspects have changed but the core of the gamneplay is as horribly addictive as ever. If you buy this prepare yourself for the "Just five more minutes" effect that has you ignoring that fact that it's three in the morning on a weeknight just so you can finish this next battle. It looks pretty sweet too, and stylus controls have been implemented (which apparently weren't there in import versions).

What can i say, This game is what RPG lovers and DS users have been waiting for, completely original, innovative, and utterly bad-ass to boot,

You have here everything that the masters at Square Enix and their Jupiter Counterparts have strived to provide in previous franchises, but in this case they have almost certainly raised the bar in EVERY ASPECT.. Stratagem, Action, Puzzles, all kicked together with a fresh street look taken straight off the sheets of a Manga comic book.. Absolutely Astonishing Gameplay, Wicked Dialogue, Great Difficulty / Learning Curve..

What else could you ask for?

I actually imported an English language, region free version of this from Hong Kong months ago, and i was really excited about it. Let's get to the point shall we, good things first. The cut-scene graphics are insane. No other way to put it. Just incredible. The game play is pretty good too, easy to control, and the materia leveling system is an interesting change from the original FFVII. That's about it.

Now, the story is, regardless of what everyone else says, rubbish. I honestly don't understand how any intelligent person could think otherwise. It's Hollywood-esque idiot fodder filled with shallow, two-dimensional characters, minimal dialogue (replaced almost entirely by ridiculous, if mindlessly entertaining fight scenes) and has no emotional ... Final Fantasy III (Nintendo DS)

I've been playing this game for about 20 hours so far and I have no idea how far I'm into it. But the graphics are lovely. The little team that you control is really cute and watching the cut scenes when 'important' events happen is quite entertaining.

There are quite a few character classes (or 'jobs' in Final Fantasy world) to choose from. Only a few of these are open to you to begin with, but I got offered a new batch of job classes about 8 hours into the game and then another batch about 4 or 5 hours later.

The battles are a little repetitive - and I find that all I need to do is hit the 'attack' key rather than do anything terribly subtle. So that's why I've given this only a 3 out of 5 star rating for fun. It is good fun - but I'm now playing ... Read More:

Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (Nintendo DS)

I played this game since I wanted something new for my Nintendo DS collection and I had already completed FF XII. To be honest, the PS2 title was not really as good as I expected, but this game was fun and kept me interested for a long time. It has good missions, it's kinda long for Nintendo DS standards and also tough! Especially the final stages are quite a challenge. I recommend it for those who played Final Fantasy XII mainly, since the others will have trouble understanding the plot in a few parts of the game. Thus, 4/5 stars.

Final Fantasy I (PSP)

I've played this game and basically all that happens is that you get told your some kind of legendary warriors and plonked(thats right, plonked) into a world to figure out what to do. Practically nadda to tell you what to do and absolutely MINIMUM storyline to get enveloped in. So if it's the great storylines of the latter games in the Final Fantasy series your interested in(like me), this game really isn't for you.

Im mainly writing this just to clarify this isn't the first Final Fantasy on a hand held (like stated in a previous review), and that FF 3,4,5, and 6 are available for the GameBoy SP/Advance and DS. I would recommend 4,5 and 6 if your thinking of investing in some retro FF (5 having a similar job based battle system to this one).

It also houses countless spin offs, The Crystal Chronicles series is one of them.Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates is the newest addition to the series the story centres around the fraternal love between twins Yuri and Chelinka who lose their mother, they go on a journey and meet a whole host of interesting and unique characters.My first impressions of this was that I knew I was gonna enjoy this (alot more than FFIII, which I do love but thought was too slow)with the custom-made weapons which made it alot more fun and the graphics are amazing even the music is pretty good.The bad parts, even though you have 3 other characters fighting with you, they don't always fight I was on the first 'Fish' boss ...
