I have to say that as a big FF fan I was a little wary of this game, however I am glad I decided to try it. It is an incredibly fun game to play with a really good story behind it. I love how it has managed to combine sci fi with the traditional fantasy elements of people driving around by horse and carriage, fighting with a sword and of course, dragons (what's fantasy without dragons right? :-P )

I do have one slight criticism. The music is great, but very often when there is a cut scene where the characters speak the music quite often drowns them out, and there is no option to either turn down the music or turn up the voices. This can get quite frustrating especially since some of the voice acting is great. I especially like ... Read More:

Heroes of Might and Magic V (PC DVD)

from: Ubisoft

Ok, this was a long-awaited game since the release of Heroes of Might and Magic IV (HOMM IV) which was an awesome, entertaining game to play.

It appears HOMM V has been developed to suit a 3D environment, which is quite attractive. Nevertheless, this has not worked out too well due to the resources not being managed well by the programming of the game.

I like big maps and scenarios that take absolute ages to finish. Well, it takes ages for each player to take their turn no matter what machine you have. This is really bad. After 5 turns you understand you do not have the time to waste on this.

Furthermore, the storyline would be ok if there were no voices (atrocious) but you'd get lost in the constant misspelling ... Read More:

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory (PC)

from: Ubisoft

I was a fan of the original splinter cell when it first came out. However what put me off that otherwise brilliant game was the very linear nature of the levels. Having played through the first level of Chaos Theory I can say that the levels appear less linear and there are more options available to the ever gritty Sam Fisher.
Gameplay wise I found the control to be a touch clunky - although I suspect this may be my PC showing its age and some tweaking of the game settings should fix this. The end of level stats give some replayability of the the "got to get 100%" variety, the game also seems to reward you with higher stats for taking a non violent approach which often gets you thinking in-game, "How do I get past these guards without kiling them ... Twin sisters get pulled into the lost village, an experiene which will change their lives forever. Gone are the days when survival horror meant men and women with heavy weaponry. These girls are armed with just one weapon an ancient mysterious camera known as the camera obscura.

This is a seriously good game and a welcome addition to the project zero series. The graphics are excellent, the soundtrack pleasing to the ears and the gameplay and storyline are immense.

Like the first game the storyline is deep and interesting. Overall this is a superb game and should rightfully be awarded five stars. Well worth it.

Not usually a big fan of stealth games (always found MGS quite slow and boring) but i'd heard good things about the splinter cell series and decided to give it a chance.

Big mistake, played it for a few days and got fed up with it. The most frustrating game i've ever played, here's why:

1. the objectives are so vague it renders them utterly pointless (i.e. 'find the black box' - you have no idea where or how to start looking)

2. every time you move it seems to make a huge amount of noise (even when you're crouching and there's no one around - how the hell can you jeapordise the mission when nobody is around to hear your footsteps?!!!)

and 3. if you sneak up on someone and they notice you, firing several bullets into them ... Read More:

do not buy this game it is absoluteley rubbish.no graphics, no good gameplay, and, worst of all, it hardly uses any of the ds's touch screen capabilities.if your looking for good ds games, buy ones made by nintendo. there usually the best.

Dogz 2006 (Nintendo DS)

from: Ubisoft

It's an ok game, and surely young kids will have fun playing, but I truly believe that there are much better dog games.
All the graphics are japanese cartoon style. The dogs are extremely un realistic. The plot is too repetitive, everyday you have breakfast, feed the dog, go to school, feed the dog, walk the dog, feed the dog, dinner, go to sleep. After 5 days like this, on saturdays and sundays you can finally go to the park and participate to boring, extremely easy competitions, or organise a dog party that lasts 5 minutes. Plus, you can't have different players, so starting a new game means erasing the old one and starting all over again.
I wouldn't reccomend it to anyone, so if you're looking for a present, scroll down this page and look at the other reccomendations from amazon. ... Read More:

Far Cry Instincts (Xbox)

from: Ubisoft

If there were any First-Person-Shooter, which is extremely difficult and challenging to complete, I would say it would be Far-Cry Instincts. I thought at first Half-Life was challenging, but Far-Cry Instincts really packs in a good old punch!

My brother already owned this game as he got it for a bundle price, but while we went for our little holiday in August 2006, I saw this game on offer for about £15, so I thought I'd give it a bash and see what it's like! It's a long off game but overall, it took me a whopping 5 months (January-May 2007) to complete 1 profile of the game!

Far-Cry was originally released in 2004 for the PC, but because of it's success, Ubisoft (Producer) wanted to create a Far-Cry game for the Microsoft XBox! Plans and creations were done in 2004, but the game ... Read More:
