Looney Tunes: Acme Arsenal (PS2)

As a fan of the Looney Tunes, it's sad for me to say, this is a pitiful game. I've only played the 1st level & already, it felt kinda dragged & tedious.

Lets start with the good, the cutscenes & the character voice overs...& that's about it.

Wacky the Looney Tunes may be, this game isn't wacky. In fact, scratch the voice overs as a good part, cuz during the gameplay, you barely hear the character talk unless they're hit by something/someone.

The plot is The Evil Scientist is sick & tired of the Looney Tunes & planning to eliminate their existance by travel back in time & assassinate the Looney Tunes ancestors. After discovering this evil scheme, the Looney Tunes travel back/forward ... Read More:

Anyone remember a classic Lonney Tunes cartoon from way back in the 50's where an off screen animator (who later turned out to be none other than Bugs Bunny himself) ends up tormenting Daffy Duck for a good six minutes? In it Bugs would rub out Daffy's legs and then draw in, say, a pair of frog's legs, or change the background so that one minute Daffy was stood on a beach, and no sooner than Daffy got changed into his bathing suit and rubber ring, Bugs would change the backdrop to the Artic circle!

Well this cartoon clearly is the inspiration for this game, where players are simply encouraged to pick on Daffy until he gets so naffed off he blows his stack. The underlying problem is that, while the presentation is through-the-roof awesome, ... Read More:

I bought this blind. I had no idea what it would involve - I just liked the look of Warner Brothers characters and silly weapons - and I'm not disappointed. The single player game is fun, with a co-operative two-player mode that I admit I haven't used yet but that surely adds a bit of value. Then there's a two, three or four-player "versus" mode which is really good fun. The wii controller works very well in this too. So on the surface, this game is good and I certainly like it.

But it's not without it's problems. Firstly, and this is really just an aesthetics issue, there aren't enough different playable characters for my liking. Players can be Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Marvin the Martian, Taz or Foghorn Leghorn. Because the game involves ... Read More:
