I bought Sonic hoping for a modern platform game for the family.
We lasted an hour and a half before giving up with the game.
Totally disappointed.
Buggy camera, found we could end up going through solid objects, nothing to strive for. Obviously not designed by the same people who made Sonic for the Sega (bless its cotton socks).
No challenge or anything to strive for. The game obviously didn't have a director to make sure it had a plot and direction. I've seen cheesy teen movies that had better plots!
If you're hell bent on buying this game, go rent it first before buying... That's my advice.

I was expecting great things in this expansion pack.
Unfortunately I was left disappointed.
I found the new features a bit boring and added little to the game - I realise it's an expansion pack, but I did find that the new features weren't terribly engaging . This is nothing like as engaging at the original game which arguably is my fave game ever!
I actually sold this game as I didn't ever see myself playing it again

Having played, and loved, Spyro: Shadow Legacy I really wanted to play one of the other titles. I wish I hadn't bothered. For a start I didn't know what was happening in the story since it seemed to follow on from something that had previously happened. Secondly, I've only played a few levels so far but I'm already bored. In Shadow Legacy there were different things to do (eg. exploring, fighting, using different powers and carrying out tasks) but The Eternal Night only seems to have one real mode (walking around and occasionally killing things) and no purpose.
I hadn't played any Spyro before Shadow Legacy so maybe The Eternal Night is more like the originals. But having played that first I feel like this one is a huge step backwards and a real ... Read More:

There are mixed reviews over this game, but as someone who has played this game through and through allow me to give a fresh account.
The game split into 3 different levels of play and appeals to different people depending on your tastes. There is the land combat to secure a planets surface and ultimately the planet, there is space combat to secure the space above a planet or if it is an area of space to control the region, and the galactic map where you command all of your forces.
Now the campaign is long enough to keep thing interesting with a decent storyline, varied missions and the possibility for longer gametime should you wish to conquer more planets outside of the actual missions.
Galactic Conquest forms the mode whereby ... Read More:
When I got my Nintendo 64 for Christmas in 2000, it was packed with 2 free Gold Controllers, but I also had a Blue Nintendo 64 Controller boxed! Now oddly enough, even though Gold is shiny, bright, sparkling and the controller everybody wanted, I was using the Blue Controller more frequently than any other controller (it is actually more used than the other controllers).
But it wasn't until August 2004, when I got hold of the Black Nintendo 64 Controller, and to tell you the truth, among all 4 controllers, there is no difference whatsoever! So you can have the same joy with those 4-Player games such as Mario Kart 64, Mario Party 2, Super Smash Bros etc!
But like I said about the Blue Controller in a separate review, I do find the Nintendo ... Read More:

I agree with other reviews more or less. I too am an ardent Spyro fan and been. When the new series by Krome and Sierra came out, I was excited. The first game had it's ups and downs but mostly was good. But this is just a desaster!
Spyro the Eternal Night really takes the weaknesses of the first game and makes them weaker! One thing that really annoyed me was that the lighting was awful. Entering this one dungeon that's kinda dark, not even messing with the brightness and contrast on my TV did much to help. It's so dark you can barely see a yard in front of you, and you can't tell an enemy is coming until it's on you! Turn up the brightness all the way and all you get is darkness PLUS an extra fog lense.
Gameplay, too, get's real old real fast. ... Read More:

I bought this game on PS2 as I had always liked the Harry Potter games (apart from The Goblet of Fire because it was really bad), I had heard that this one was different and was fresh. It was but not fresh enough, it is very repetitive and not fun to play. If you want a good Harry Potter buy the Prisoner of Azkaban. I also downloaded the PS3 demo and it is also bad.

As many will already know before purchasing this latest Doom opus, the graphics are quite impressive. Yet as most avid gamers will declare, it is the gameplay that truly matters most and to be brutally honest, I found this game to be lacking in many aspects...
An unoriginal plot with concepts snatched from various films and games, what kept me playing until the dissapointing end was merely the hope that things would get better, or even progress at all! Under the veil of nice graphics and impressive lighting effects one cannot help but see the game as a blatant rip-off with its Resident Evil suspense, carbon-copy of Half-life's storyline (if only a little fuzzy around the edges) and a vaguely interesting 'messaging' system where one can read emails of the desceased ... I never owned a Gamecube, so I never got to play this game. I loved the prequal on the N64, and always thought that this game looked good, but just never got around to it. Now I own a Wii, the gateway to a plethora of retor games has opened before me and this is the first title checked off my "to buy" list. Of course, I had to buy a Gamecube remote and memory card - don't forget to grap those!
Anyway, this game looks fantastic (even now) and plays well. The controls are a little convoluted and tricky (I've no idea what my targetting computer efficiency score means and I've no idea how to improve it) but you get used to them. And this feels like Star Wars. It feels like your in the movies and it feels good.
In short, if you've bagged yourself a Wii, grab ... Read More:
