This is exactly like playing a board game, only more fun as it is enhanced by nice graphics. I have only had a go at it against the computer, but I imagine it should be much more fun if there are 4 friends with GBA that play against each other. Once you figure it out it certainly becomes adictive. Easy way to pass the time, especially if you are not into the more complicated action/killing games. Of course there is the waiting you have to go through until your turn comes, but that's how board games are - you have to wait for your turn. However, this game is not boring because it is fun to watch what is happening to the opponents and mini games often occur on somebody else's turn that involve all the other players as well. So you end up interacting ... Read More:

Remember the days of spending hours on end hunched up over your Amiga playing X-Com: The Enemy Unknown? Rebelstar's game designer is the same as the X-Com games, but that isn't to say the game is the same.
By way of the plot, zip yourself forward over a hundred years. The Earth has been enslaved by the Arelians, an alien race. When humans reach thirty, they disappear. The main character in the game loses his parents to the Arelians and decides to do something about it...
Following training, he becomes a squad leader and before he knows it, he's thrown into a variety of situations and given the opportunity to strike back at the enemy.

I am not a big fan of the gameboy as most games have no replayibility once you finish. I prefer racing games on them because the outcome is normally different. However, when I walked into GAME one day with £30 burning a hole in my pocket my eyes rested on LORD OF THE RINGS: RETURN OF THE KING. And, boy, was that a good buy. You play as all of the fellowship and a few secret characters. the game has bosses, which, have special powers. You play through 100's of levels, collecting and upgrading weapon (pro's, the hard hero's are: Legolas, Gandalf and Eowyn) The best bit is that you can upgrade attributes by collecting points by killing enemies. + when you kill enough enemies you go up a "level" which gives you a point to spend on special powers. There are also ... Read More:

I really enjoyed the SNES version of Final Fantasy V because it had the most humour of any Final Fantasy game I had played and a lot of mini plot twists along the way that kept me hooked. I particularly like the imagination in it - things like a boat that can move without wind because it's powered by a dragon!
There are the standard Final Fantasy turn-based battles and villages to visit but what makes it stand out is the writing of the characters you meet in these villages, there are some great little jokes and cute touches.
One thing I like about this GBA version is that it does have slightly improved graphics and new dungeons and character classes etc. but they haven't changed the essential feel of the SNES game so it's not so much ... Read More:

The verdict...
Pokemon FireRed is basically a remake of Pokemon Firered, explore the kanto reigon, same Pokemon in places, same gym leaders, same elite four. It expresses fully developed graphics. Plus after you beat the Pokemon leauge you travel throught the Sevii islands-a bunch of islands with Pokemon from the Johto reigon. Really, its a fun game. Newcomers will feel welcome as this a remake of the first Pokemon games, and hardcore fans will enjoy the familar sights of Kanto. Plus, using the wireless adapter, you cant trade and battle with friends with no cables!
The rating:
+Kanto reigon is great
+Wireless capabilities are fantastic
+Loads of Pokemon to capture
-Can be a bit 'short' for experience gamers/people who have played ... Read More:
