I bought this game for my 6 year old daughter, when she first tried to play it she found it dificult to control and I thought that she wouldn't want to play it again. How wrong I was, this has become her favourite Wii game and can keep her amused for hours and me too! It's great to have a game that we can play together and enjoy, we find ourselves shouting or laughing when we fall off a ledge, moving bridge, mushroom or whatever we are trying to move over. Other reviewers have commented that it's rather childish, but it is for ages 7 and up - so if you want a more 'grown up' game, then pick something else, there's a large selection! I bought this before reading all the reviews, and had a bit of a panic when I read some of the more dismal ones.
Then it arrived and I played it.
Now, I've only completed the first 2 levels/missions but;
This game is Awsome! A note to the people who found it hard to aim, set the sensitivity down to low in the options, this is recommended to first time players when you see it in the options. With this set, the machinegun was easy to master.
I will admit some people find the control system hard to deal with (one of my mates and my Girlfriend for example, but they don't play FPS much anyway) but to me it's just so natural and intuitive, unless you get distracted and the controller points off the screen leaving you spinning ... My mum got me this wii game for my birthday this year! I have to say it is the best wii game I own! The graphics are not that bad at all. Everything is really realistic, you get to help out on the farm (help herding chickens) and you get to look after your own horses which you can breed. The controls are kind of hard to get use to at first but when you've got the hang of things it's easy! Once you've got your first new foal you can start training it when it's grown up!

Now due for release on the 12 of september and amazon are now telling me it will be very end of september before I might, if I am lucky, get the game. Should of had this in June, I suppose we will have to wait some more!!! Thrills

Played the original briefly on the ps1 years ago. I didn't really get into all that much, but with this version I can really appreciate how good the game is, The gameplay, puzzles and graphics are all very well done. The combat is top notch, with lots of evasive manouvres and special attacks to do. i couldn't quite do it very well on ps1 version, but maybe it was just me. But I do recommend this game, its excellent.

I recently received my Wii Fit and Balance Board on release date.

I am please to say that Nintendo have outdone themselves yet again and come up with an excellent peice of cutting edge technology with the Balance Board and a fun and effective peice of software with the Wii Fit excersise games.

One thing which is quite a surprise is how fast the Balance Board goes through bateries. I only owned my copy of Wii Fit for a couple of days and the Balance Board seemed to have eaten quite a considerable chunck of juice.

So I decided to have a little hunt around and see if I could find a powersaving solution to the battery problem.

Disney Princess: Enchanted Journey (Wii)

My daughter has independently become obsessed with Disney princesses (Grrrrr!) - not the best result for a football-loving Dad. However, this game is terrific and she loves exploring the varied tasks and it provides some quality play time. Having been a gaming addict in the past, I don't want to get her stuck on such things so we treat it as a reward - and she loves it. Playing two player we get to do lots of talking, exploring and problem solving in an engaging way. Sure it's easy - but it helps develop hand-eye coordination, logic and language skills in an environment that enagages her. Tippity Top - girl friendly for sure - but I grit my teeth, search for those princesses and see my daughter enjoy herself.
