This game is quite marvelous. Of course some tracks on the soundtrack are awful, but that's unavoidable, and there'll always be something there for you. Even in one-player mode it can be great fun at a party (assuming your speakers are any good). It would have got five stars overall from me, but for the price. On the American Amazon, it's a mere $60 dollars, which is about thirty quid. I can appreciate that things are usually slightly more expensive over here, due to myriad factors, but really? an extra 50% on the price? Ridiculous. Otherwise, I heartily recommend it.

Entertaning and addictive. Gets harder as you go throught the game. Graphics are O.K. not great though made up for by drawing on the imagination.
However "Malware Scanner" discovered "Dark ftp" A back door virus which apparently steals your passwords.
This may be a glitch with this particular scanner but take care!
Any other scanners found this???

...who should really have read the description of the game before buying it. Civilisation's always been turn based strategy and it really seems more your problem if you've bought something in a genre that you don't like.

The game itself is fantastic, the very epitomy of 'just one more turn' and begs the question of whether there will be a Civ V. Firaxis have got it right and I can't see how, barring minor tinkering, they can improve this.

In short, if you like turn-based strategy, this game is up there with Football Manager in eating your life. If you don't like turn-based strategy, read the product description.

After reading negative reviews about poor performance and having to download service packs i was hesitant to purchase this game, but i dived in and bought it with first class postage (£3.11) and it arrived 2 days later, not bad really.

I got it out of the box and installed onto Vista Home Premium, took 4 minutes on my PC, which is impressive. No keycodes needed, just a nice install. I then went to register my product and downloaded the 200mb service pack. after installing this, i have spent around 20minutes at my computer.

I then rebooted after some windows update and then launched into a career. (on easy mode). Completing the first patrol fairly quickly, after discovering how to speed up time!

I bought this software when I first started to play chess. It's good, it's very easy to use and has lots of help for people first starting out.

For example there are topics covering how the pieces move, simple tactics (forks, pins and skewers) and some opening and endgame theory. The amount of lessons you get for the price make this software a must for someone who wants to start out and if you are looking for sofware for children it is good for that too as the childrens corner is designed with children in mind (even the set's are quite funny to watch as they attack each other with magic and the like).

having seen the two reviews on here i would say that all the game needs is a little getting used to,i think the engines are really the best i have seen in any train sim game and i owe microsoft train sim and trainz,i also enjoy the add on which was released for rail sim ,the routes are also spot on ,far better than what microsoft can produce so yes this game will get five gold stars and all i can say is to the copany that made this game please produce more add ons.

this game is easy one of the most addictive stratagy games in the world. i have CoH WiC and C&C 3 but i still play this game For CW [Clanwars]and fun.its not about spam is all about using your unit to the full potential AKA micro to win if you are a fan of RTS and C&C get this GAME !!!

I found it hard to have a real overview of your nation and forces when you can't zoom out enough to see your entire nation or even half of it.
I lost focus on what was going on when I couldn't see all the kinds of activities that took place around my nation.

And where is the ability to change view?
Why make a game where you can only view things from one perspective?

It's pretty fun to play though up until things get really busy then I lost focus.
