SEGA Mega Drive Collection (PSP)

I was so pleased to hear about this coming out, especially after owning SEGA Classics on PS2 and writing a rather harsh but true review for it on Amazon! This is an absolute blinder of a SEGA comp and they have truely redeemed themselves by putting 27 titles, which include a large percentage of great well known games (Sonic 1 & 2, Ecco The Dolphin, Golden Axe 1,2,3) and not so well known classics (Vectorman 1 & 2 and Ristar) on one UMD with spot on emulation that pretty much mirrors the original quality of the games and audio soundtracks, unlike the EA Replay comp, in which they emitted the original Road Rash music (WHAT!?). Yes its a shame Streets Of Rage isn't on here but they're probably gonna release another one with that on, Can't ... Read More:

We all know the Japanese to be a bunch of folks that enjoy strange TV programs such as Endurance, Takeshi's Castle (and probably nearly every other Japanese program :-)). We all know the French to be a bunch that like looking at odd Artworks. Well here is an example of what happens when the French and Japanese decide to make a game together. Extremely strange 2D art combine with extremely weird yet compelling and strangely addictive gameplay. Ignore the 1 star reviews try the demo and if you like the demo you'll love this game. However it appears that it might be a Marmite game, i.e. you're either going to love it or hate it. Most people however seem to love it.

In my opinion the PSP version is superior to the DS version. Graphically, there's little between the two but the more powerful PSP and its better screen unsurprisingly edge it over the DS. Loading times for the UMD are barely noticeable, while, perhaps controversially, I prefer the PSP's d-pad for this. (Keep in mind that you basically only use left and right on the d-pad.) But this is just my personal preference, it's essentially the same on both formats and equally brilliant. I simply recommend you buy it for your own preferred system.

As for the game itself, it's not only the best Space Invaders game yet, it's also a fantastic shooter in its own right. If you've ever wanted to play the arcade classic but don't fancy 30-year-old graphics, this ... Read More:

Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters (PSP)

Argh! The plague of every single Ratchet and Clank game: length. If you played this start to finish, it would take you 6 hours at most I reckon. Obviously there is a fair amount of replay value to upgrade your weapons etc, however this is still quite difficult due to the lack of areas swarming with enemies that you could find in the ps2 games.

The graphics and gameplay are incredible but the story falls flat on its face and is lost to mediocrity, I can't even remember what happened in it!

Highly recommended, but buy it along side a few other games too to make the length seem acceptable; PSP games are so cheap now so do what I did: buy this, Metal Gear Portable Ops and Killzone Liberation all at the same time. It won't cost you more ... Read More:

This is simply a great game. The graphics are a feast for the eyes! lovely, colourful spongy backgrounds. And ooh the satisfaction of growing bigger as you collect more little ones. If you just literaly want to go from the start to the end of the level then the game is really easy which is useful as its stops you getting frustrated if you cant collect all the bonus. You can however go all out and try to find ALL the bonuses of all descriptions and rescue all the creatures. Ive never played a game that was so 'nice' to play before. The music is great - the little creatures sing in their own language and even if the words dont make sense its still very catchy!. Wipeout Pulse (PSP)

This is one of those games that really has the show off factor. The graphics are excellent and the soundtrack contains thumping (recognisable) tunes. Added to the fact that it can be eye-meltingly fast, it is the ultimate PSP show off game.

The new addition of 'mag-strips' that keep your ship stuck to the track allow for some crazy and creative track designs. Having said that, the majority is tried and tested Wipeout fare. Speed pads, weapon pick ups, etc. The variety of races that you are forced to enter to continue is pretty good and allows for some variation. Load times are quite laborious, and allowing to see the stat ticker on these screen would have been a real bonus.

Logic3 Slim & Lite Armour Case and Stand (PSP)

This is by far the best protection that you can currently get for your PSP slim on the market. When the PSP came out it was the Logitech PlayGear Pocket PSP Protective Case that ruled as the best protection for your PSP. And many of its fans have even created a petition asking Logitech to create one for the PSP slim due to the last ones success.

While I myself have not tried nor tested the previous case (as I never had the original and more bulky PSP) I can see that it is in fact a worthy case, but I believe this one is certainly worth that much praise and more.

While it might be a bit on the exspensive side, once I got the case it became clear that I had certainly gotten my money's worth. Alright so I haven't actually tested whether it is as hardy ... Read More:

Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness (PSP)

First off, if youre familiar with tactics games such as final fantasy tactics, onimusha tactics, front mission etc you will be well at home with this game.

So far ive got about 12hrs gameplay and im on chapter 4 (out of 14!) but i have spent alot of time other than following the main story. The story itself is a breath of fresh air. You play Laharl a young demon price vying for control of the throne of the underworld after his farthers death.

The graphics are of a nice anime quality and with good special effects. Characters are great even from the start, Prinnys are amazing (basically penguins with knifes!) and in a way similar to FF tactics you can hire other units for use in battle ranging from healers, thiefs, mages, warriors and even gun users (striders). ... Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow (PSP)

I've loved every single Syphon Filter game that's been released.This latest offering,is certainly way up there.I loved all the missions,just a slight gripe with rescuing Lian.That perhaps could have been done a tad better.It was done with other female characters held hostage.Despite that,its a great game.I love the deadly assortment of weapons on offer.Gabe's unarmed combat moves look good.Personally,I hope there is another game in the pipeline.
