I'd been an avid gamer for 20 years or so before I went near an RPG. It was the GBA that got me hooked on the genre. This was the 2nd RPG I played and it was a blast!
It's true that it hasn't aged brilliantly, there are some slow patches, the random battles are far to frequent and the ending leaves you feeling a bit under whelmed. But.... it's just so much fun.
The story and game world are full of imagination and charming little touches. I conceed that's most of what this game has to offer is pretty standard among RPGs, but for my money Breath of Fire does it all with a wit and beauty that make it feel like a unique gaming expirience and one worth repeating.

The graphics in this game are very good - and the animation of the skaters is so good they look positively human in their movements (in fact I'm sure the original graphics must have been drawn around actual footage of real figures - no animator can capture human movement this well).
I want to like this game - I *really* do. But the problem is that I can't. It takes so long to learn how to do all the tricks and moves, and then to try and remember them, unless you've got all the spare time in the world to burn, the techniques just take too long to learn. It isn't something that you can pick up in 5 minutes each day either - you need to spend long sessions training.
I just don't have the time for this, and is it worth the ... Read More:

Firstly I haven't got this game on the GBA I have actually got the good old NES cartridge that fits in the NES, and I love the game, the music is so classical and awesome, and it's challenging and fun, I am a Nintendo fan and a Metroid fan I love this game, yes the corridor looks the same that doesn't bother me were in the past in this game, it's a good story line where you need to kill Ridley and Kraid to beat the 3rd big boss mother brain which is hard unless you got plenty of missiles and energy tanks, a must have for a Metroid fan

This collection of games is exactly what it says it is - exact copies of the arcade games Galaga, Galaxian, Ms. Pac-Man, Dig-Dug and Pole Position. I initially thought that the games would suffer from the small screen, but you quickly get used to it and on Ms. Pac-Man you can choose to have a scrolling screen that greatly increases the size of the characters without confusing you too much.
Galaga is the gem for me - still playable after all these years and never bettered in my opinion. It is perfect in every way, with ever changing challenging stages interrupting the intensifying alien attacks. Galaxian however is hopelessly dated now, being nothing more than a jazzed up space invaders-type game, as is Pole Position - if you've played any of the current ... Read More:

One of the finest games on the NES- but handheld! It's just as much fun playing on the go- but I have to say it is cheaper to download from the Wii's Virtual Console.

I first got this game way back in Xmas 1992, which is rather appropriate coz it's a very Xmasy game. Pond's villain Doctor Maybe has seized control of Santa's workshop in the North Pole, kidnapped his workers and halted toy production. Obviously someone has to save Xmas so F.I.5.H. send James Pond to the rescue.
The object of the game is to rescue Santa's workers in all departments of his toy empire (sports toys, candy, bath toys, musical instruments, toy cars) while avoiding Doctor Maybe's minions and collecting zillions of fun, random objects for points.
I have not played the original Genesis version in a few years but recently bought the gameboy advance version. The GBA release is faster and features redesigned levels (still the same themes ... Read More:

When I bought this game I couldn't wait to play put it in my GBA & play it. At first I thought it rubbish, but then I read the instructions & it became simple. The graphics aren't too bad and The buttons are a bit unresponsive but you get used to them. It has a good choice of wrestlers from The Rock to Stone Cold Steve Austin. I would recommend it too any WWF fan but not if you're not.

This game is cahlenging. It requires critical thinking skills and common sense. if you have these skills, this game should be a players choice. If you don't have these skills, that's unfortunate of you.
