I got this recently and can only warn others not to make the same mistake. The game may have a good storyline, It may have interesting levels, It may be truly engaging. Sadly you will never find out because it is crippled by a control system that makes it almost impossible to direct your character around the map.
The camera swirls around as you move rather than stay centred on one spot. Sure it looks good but it means you cannot climb the stairs ahead of you as aiming for them with the d-pad leads you off to one side. You have to constantly jockey the camera back and forth with the L and R buttons to keep looking ahead. In combat this means you must press at least three buttons at once just to turn to face and target your opponents. ... Read More:

I bought DQM: Joker because of the fond memories I have with the older Game Boy versions. This new DS version brings back many enjoyable memories (ie, Monsters and sounds) from playing the older games but brings a new aspect to the "Fight and Catch'em" games on the hand held. The world you explore is 3D and although not visually stunning it is full of character and style. A pleasant change from the Birds Eye view 2D worlds these games usually play as. Then no longer having random encounters but actually seeing the monsters roam the 3D world around u is a real treat, picking when you wish to engage them.
Pros:
The breeding system is well tweaked and enjoyable
Night and day cycles keeps the 3D world looking fresh
Monsters ... Read More:

I got this game coz it looked good! Its good coz you can switch between characters, from spongebob to plankton to patrick and mini plankton. There are about 12 levels to completed on it, and i am on level 8 but have got stuck because once you get to this stage its hard to complete.
Also in each level you have to complete 5 different levels in it and even if you can complete the first three but not the last two you have to start again from the beginning of the mini levels.
so far about 5 of the levels are similarly structured where you have to do the same things but there are some other levels which are more fun and all different. I am 14 and for me this game is quite hard so if you were to buy it for younger age groups i can assure you ... Read More:

So here's the thing: this isn't actually a bad game. It's just...well, not really Spyro-ish. I bought this in the sales after several years of playing the original Spyro 1 and 2 (on PS1) and the Season of Ice / Flame / Adventure series (on GBA), and was hoping that I'd get something similar to these, but upgraded for the DS. That's not what you get here. This is different in every way from any of the other Spyro games I've played. The view is different, the characters are drawn differently, the collecting aspect of the previous games is gone (no orbs / fairies / dragons / fireflies / gems to collect in this one), and it doesn't even have proper levels. In short, there are virtually no similarities to the previous games. It makes me wonder why they made this a Spyro ... Read More:

Having played, and loved, Spyro: Shadow Legacy I really wanted to play one of the other titles. I wish I hadn't bothered. For a start I didn't know what was happening in the story since it seemed to follow on from something that had previously happened. Secondly, I've only played a few levels so far but I'm already bored. In Shadow Legacy there were different things to do (eg. exploring, fighting, using different powers and carrying out tasks) but The Eternal Night only seems to have one real mode (walking around and occasionally killing things) and no purpose.
I hadn't played any Spyro before Shadow Legacy so maybe The Eternal Night is more like the originals. But having played that first I feel like this one is a huge step backwards and a real letdown.
