As many will already know before purchasing this latest Doom opus, the graphics are quite impressive. Yet as most avid gamers will declare, it is the gameplay that truly matters most and to be brutally honest, I found this game to be lacking in many aspects...

An unoriginal plot with concepts snatched from various films and games, what kept me playing until the dissapointing end was merely the hope that things would get better, or even progress at all! Lets start with the single player eh, s'alright.. some introduction to controls, weapons, vehicles and gameplay. Some pretty epic moments, like the end of the level "The Maw" and "two betrayals" is pretty much ALL epic.. "The Library" - probably the worst level created. Shame theres some maps looped, or just reversed. BUT the system link is bloody amazing, 50 kills AINT ENOUGH IN A LAN. Capture the flag can be just too epic and some slayer on sidewinder and the ORIGINAL MAP BLOODGULCH.

Gaming dosent get much better than this, Fable: The Lost Chapters proves that British manufactures can keep the standards sky high, higher then most Japanese and American Brands. Multiple weapons, clothing/armour, items, environments... Some of the most mesmerizing environments you'll see on xbox or gaming in general, Hauntingly lush forests, tranquil gardens, heavenly demon door rooms, and a dead on weather system to stun and impress, making the areas somewhat more believable. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 (Xbox)

After playing many FPS games that had a "Blow up everything in your way" gameplay it was nice to get my hands on a little more of a tactical game. Rainbow Six 3 breaks away from mindless shooting and adds alot more thought to the FPS genre.

The game puts you in control of a squad of 3 men who act as covering fire aswell as other back up and support. This adds to the games diversity and you feel a real sense of leadership as you command your troops. Also the game is alot more realistic to other FPS games, in RS3 if you take a couple bullets you die and if you happen to live you dont have any method of regaining your health as there are no health packs. Jade empire is fantastic it's got great gameplay and a great storyline and it has a bonus disc with an exclusive character and demos for froza motorsport and two more i won't say 10/10 must buy!

PROS:
+This is a typical non-violent young children game (age 7-11) and has done well in hitting that target.
+The missions are great fun and exploring is good too, to start off with.
+There are a great range of cars to earn, buy and collect! You can get into any car on the street.
+ All the charectors are there and the storyline is great if a little unrealistic!
+This game has very good, funny in game comments from the Charector your control
+ It is easy to control your charector as there are no gear changes.
+When you get bored you can have great car chases with police by running people over ( they never die!)
CONS:
-Very repetitive and graphics often dodgy! (Can walk through supposedly solid objects)

I remember when Doom 2 first came out on PC, I was single and had the money to go out and buy a new PC just so that I could play the game that the office staff were playing in their lunch hours. Now years later I am forced to buy the games I want to play at local cheap second hand games shop, to play on the kids X-box after they have gone to bed. My financial position may have changed but the 1st person `shoot `em up' continues to go from strength to strength.

I first saw this game advertised on Gamer TV a while back and thought that the mixture of vampires and the wild west - though bizarre - was really up my dark street and a game that I would try and get of a copy of.

Star Wars Battlefront II (Xbox)

this game is everything you could want from a starwars game because:
1.you can fight as EVERYONE! the rebels, wookies, jedi, empire plus more.
2.good variety of personnel classes, snipers, demolitiors, grunts and more
3.plenty of offline play, loads of different single player things to do.
4.good online gaming
5.graphics are not bad either
6.you can do space battles, flying x-wings and all the classics!
7.any vehicle you see, you can drive/use it.

but there are a few bad things:
1.the camera angle can get in the way of things sometimes
2.you will most probably kill more of your own men than the enemy!
3.and three, well, i dont think there is anymore!

Xbox Official DVD Movie Playback Controller

This is a very handy little piece of device, which can help you out on a couple of occasions! Obviously it is mainly used for DVD purpose, but you can actually also use it to move and make selections in the XBox Main Menu system which is ideal for me as sometimes I use the XBox to listen to music while I wrap up Birthday/Christmas Gifts and clean my bedroom and I think to myself "Why Do I Have To Keep On Reaching For That Controller All The Time When I Can Use This DVD Remote!"

A advantage with the remote as well is that it just requires 2 AAA Batteries which can last for a long time, and it is wireless with built in Infrared technology!

My Grade For This Device: 8/10: Enjoyable, Fair-Play, Thumbs Up

FIFA 07 (Xbox)

It's the game that football fans wait all year for, and it doesn't dissapoint. It really immerses you in the game, to make you feel as if you really are out on the pitch.
Perhaps the only problem for seasoned players of fifa is that the only way to unlock the top level of difficulty is to win every game in a season of Manager Mode, which I myself sometimes just can't be bothered to do!
But you've probably got a lot more staying power than me.
All in all this is definitely a great game, beaten only in quality by fifa 08.
