This is a really easy product to set up. The wizard works well and detects your connection very quickly. The router is quick and although the wireless is the not the best thst i've seen, it is still very good.

This product is also very good if your adsl line has a low SNR rating (this will result is drops in connections on most modems, google SNR if your unsure what this is) however, i can easily get 8mbps without any drops on this modem. Something my orange livebox and 3 other modems could not do.

i bought this and a Netgear's 54 Mbps wireless router (WGR614v4) and it worked well...at 1st it was easy to get used to and it is a value for money product..i got into other peoples internet routers in an instant:P

I like to read reviews before I make electronic purchases, and Amazon is one of the best places to go for reviews.

Based on what I read here, I purchased this router with the free delivery option on Monday evening, it arrived the following Friday.

Just inserted the setup CD, took my time, read each screen carefully to follow instructions to the letter, and within 20 minutes, I was surfing the net wirelessly!

Signal "excellent" all over the house, not tried yet in the garden, waiting for it to stop raining!

Verdict: recommended!

Absolutely fantastic, took a couple of minutes to get up and running on xp machine and no compatibility issuses, unlike previous netgear usb adapter. Very well priced and works a treat I would recommend to anyone.

Bought one of these despite all the bad reviews and my gamble paid off. Bearing in mind other peoples installation hassles i firstly installed it using the supplied software and unsurprisingly it didn't work. So i simply set it up using Windows wireless network wizard-inputting the required information manually and it immediatly worked perfectly. i think thats the problem most people are having- that they didn't let Windows recognise the new hardware properly before they gave up. Absolutely nothing wrong with this piece of kit!!

I have had this router over a year and it is possibly the worst one I have ever had.

The wireless signal is rendered useless by Bluetooth, such as a PS3 controller and a mobile headset. More susceptible to microwave interference, even when the microwave is in a different room.

The ADSL modem doesn't get the best out of a line and required a reboot weekly.

I have ditched this and got a different router and am now getting faster, more stable broadband and can use my PS3 without without wires.

Netgear support was useless and ignored the issues I was having.

I've had this router for just over a year now and it's suddenly stopped working properly. Turning it on and off doesn't help - the correct lights don't come on. Sometimes, it works after I leave it turned off for long periods of time. Not impressed.

About once every month the router will magically wipe out all configurations forcing me to reinstall the configurations from a backup file. The router isn't mine, but I've to help my old aunt who has it (a friend of mine has it too, and he has similar problems). Imagine that, at least once a month I've to take a call from her requesting me to come over to fix the blasted router.

At times the wireless portion will fail so she is forced to connect to it via the 10/100 wired port. Only once reinstalling the wireless configuration would it work again. Updating the firmware is difficult too, with it constantly rejecting the firmware file I downloaded from Linksys's own website. Even once I got the latest firmware onto it, it still deletes the configurations once a month. ... Read More:

After a day of struggling with a cheap modem, I bought the Netgear. I unpacked it, plugged it in, entered my username and password....and it connected immediately. What more can you say?

Actually, what you can say is that the autosetup wizard only works for Windows, and Mac and Unix users will have to hunt through the PDF manual to find the IP address you need to enter your details (the html help screens are utterly useless). But if you have a PC then this modem is the mutt's nuts.
