Canon NB-5L Battery Pack

This is a genuine Canon replacement and works for my 860is. Its the same as the battery that come with the camera. I was gona buy a generic battery such from other battery suplliers but they are generic and you can never be sure. For a start a lot of them didnt match the 1120mAH spec, but the prices were great.... until amazon dropped their price by £10. Its now one of the cheapest batteries for your camera, ontop of which its a canon one , whereas for this price elsewhere you get one which is generic and i didnt trust it in a £200+ camera. With free deliery you cant get a cheaper battery for your canon.
It comes "off the shelf" in the proper box they way you would see it as in a shop. Even has Canon genuine hologram on it.

Does the job well but it's been countless times now I've hit the stupidly placed on / off switch with my foot shutting down anything that's plugged in and losing changes on the computer.
A redesign is called for with the switch in a less prominent position.

THIS DEFINITIVELY **DOES** CHARGE AA BATTERIES. holliegh drake needs better glasses.

i will concede that he - and you - would need a microscope to read the instructions; i've had to hi-res scan them to get a readable on-screen copy.

i will also concede that the instructions - when you've finished magnifying them - do tell you ONLY how to switch to AAA charging mode, and don't specifically mention how to switch to AA charging mode. what they say is: "to charge AAA batteries, flip down the contact brackets before inserting the batteries". [fascinatingly, this instruction comes just AFTER the instruction to "insert batteries" - just BEFORE would be more helpful! who writes this stuff?] they DON'T actually say: "to charge ... After buying an R4 for my DSlite a few weeks ago I found that the battery just couldn't keep up with my gaming needs, saw this 1600mah battery on amazon for £2.40 and thought "what the hell, even if it's crap I've only spent a couple of quid on it"

turns out it's quite decent

the 1st charge only lasted about 2 hours and I was worried but now, after a few charges battery life is averaging at around 7 hours (high brightness) where it would have been about 4-5 before... so it's worth it in my oppinion
