Was looking to upgrade my sound quality, but not wanting to pay any huge amount of money. After reading the reviews on this card i decided to go for it. And wow! What a great sound card for such a small price!

The one thing i do have to warn people of, if you use crappy speakers with this sounds card, the sound quality is awfull, as the card tries to send out sound quality and pitches that the speakers cant manage. Make sure you have a good sound system to go with it. The combination that Amazon recommend it s great one, and just happens to be what I have!

Definately worth buying!!

I bought this not expecting it to work with my 64bit Vista OS (which can be rather awkward) and so I went for something cheap as a tester but expecting to have to move 'upmarket'. No need! It installed easily and works just fine. I'm surprised but pleased. It came bundled with 'Cyberlink power Director v5' as well as a very simple almost automated package called 'Power Producer'. I plug my old Hi8 camera in, press play and hey presto! - the tapes are recorded as mpeg2 files. I did have a bit of a problem with sound recording, but found I'd set my sound card to an incorrect input setting - changed it and off we go. If all you need is a cheap device to help you capture your old home video tapes - try this.

5.1 Surround PCI Sound Card With Gameport

This card is great if you want good 5.1 surround sound at the lowest price you can get. It does all that its meant to do and the bass is pretty orgasmic.
There are a few slight difficulties, the main one being the installation of the driver:
You want to place the disc in, run it and open Cmi8738, then go to Setup and select which operating blah you're on. Thanks to the guy afew pages on for that.
Also sound quality is slightly worse than my on board audio device; its noticeable, but worth it in my opinion for the extra 3 speakers operating.
In conclusion, I would give this a 4/5. Though if you have the money, its probably worth spending the extra tenner or so to get better sound quality.

After reading other positive reviews here I recently purchased this Logitech System. At around £25 I can't believe how good it is. It's small, neat and effective.

"Setting up" is too complex a word - press one button and it just sets itself up! I mainly use it to stream audio from my PC via the headphone output to my hifi, sometimes from my Sansa MP3 player to the hifi. It's amazing value.

I do get occasional drop-outs, probably due to interference from whatever is going on in nearby flats, but they're very brief (2 or 3 seconds of distortion) and infrequent, though a bit of a surprise when they happen.

There has been no conflict with our wireless network.

To be short it does its job as per mentioned by creative company, and
To be brief,
Many people said it takes lots of memory and CPU performance but it didn't do anything like that. If you install the components properly and follow the steps they told then I am sure it'll work properly. Crystalizer and CMSS 3D are running in a good way and does provides DTS and Dolby Digital for 5.1 audio in 24bit and 98Khz Volume Signal and has a mic in, headphone and line in connection in the side. Provides SPDIF Optical connection also. A good replacement for my Laptop, my desktop and comes with a remote too. what more you want compact, trendy external sound card in here in the world. Good effort by creative. Pretty Cheap a must buy for the laptop user who need good music.

LINDY USB 2.0 to Audio Adapter

After reading up on improving the accuracy when using Dragon naturally speaking, I found out that USB audio often gives much better results than soundcards onboard motherboards (unless the soundcard happens to be a high-end one). I can happily report that by changing from my motherboard's onboard Realtek soundcard to using this USB one the quality score from Dragon naturally speaking (effectively the signal to noise ratio) has improved from not more than 15, to a reliable 20. Without really doing controled testing, it does seem that Dragon is a fair bit more accurate using the USB card. Frankly given what a significant difference it makes, I'm surprised that Dragon supply their standard and preferred additions with analogue microphones. Recommended for anybody using speech ... First and foremost, I'd like to point out that I have absolutely no intention of recording records like the other customer review above me so I can't talk about those features.

What I can tell you is that it works exactly as described
+ sound works on 2.1 and 5.1 speakers
+ its plug and play on Windows XP - you literally plug in the wires (USB) and audio output and it works
+ a drivers disc is packaged with for Windows Vista
+ if you have a dodgy soundcard on your laptop and need to replace it, this does the job
+ aesthetically, it looks real cute
+ it plays with no problem, sounds real nice and all without breaking a sweat!

Very nice bit of kit. Plenty of connections, good software and very good recording quality. The device and its software installed with no problems.
The sound card was bought to allow my PC to play iTunes through my amp. This it does very well with the optical output providing a very detailed and lively sound. I also tested it recording an original mini-disc to the PC. Again very good quality and no problems with the software.
The only one minor gripe I have with the unit is the blue LED on the top. This is fine when the device is plugged in and no sound is going through it but, as soon as any sound passes through it the LED blinks in a really irritating way. This makes it very distracting when it is placed on the desk.
