Extremely pleased with this purchase. Although I haven't tried every feature yet - printing and copying give excellent results - with decent speed. I like the interface to the features and the facility to feed paper from either a cassette or the rear of machine.
As other reviewers have stated, it takes about 45mins to 1hr to set-up ready for use, but the instructions and software install are easy to follow.
My only gripe and the reason I didn't give 5 stars (would like to give 4 and a half, but that's not possible) is no USB cable is provided to connect to the PC ? Every printer I've ever had previously - provided all the necessary bits - so why can't Canon - especially as it's only a few pounds worth of kit.
That said I do ... Read More:

I was forced to buy a new scanner due to Epson not providing a driver for my old one now that I've got a new PC. It was hardly used and in perfect working order - a shameful waste. However, every cloud has a silver lining! What a little cracker the Canoscan 4400F is. Very easy to set up and simple to use. No 1" thick manual to wade through (as with my Epson model and I never did understand how to use it properly!) only an 8 page easy start guide. Just remember to take the mains cable out of the box before you take it up to the loft for storage and then plug it in! I didn't and couldn't understand why my PC didn't recognise the scanner - whoops. I had been installing rather a lot of devices on the new PC all at once so it was easily forgotten. The box ... I'm a graphic designer and therefore have developed the inevitable 'love / hate' relationship with Epson products, but I needed a flatbed scanner for doc's and film and didn't want to shell out a fortune. The Perfection V200 has exceeded all my expectations, it's probably Epson's best looking most unobtrusive scanner, is quick and quiet and produces excellent results on flat images, slides and 3D images.
Downsides? Well, the scanner is pretty solidly built but the slide / film holder is very flimsy, o.k. if you're methodical and careful but not recommended for the ham-fisted! Also, the top mounted buttons look great but are very easy to press by mistake when you're loading stuff. That's it - a great value product for 'home use' ( probably ... Read More:

Bought this printer a few months ago, light home user. Scanning works well, resolution fine. Noisier than other printers when paper spools through, you get used to it. For purposes of comparison, it's about half the volume of a standard vacuum cleaner.
The main criticism I have is that when any cartridge runs out the printer refuses to print anything until it is replaced, and there is no way round this.
So if you have no replacements to hand then it won't let you print a single page in black when the black cartridge is still full. This is infuriating. I took this up with Epson customer services and was told the following:
Epson - You need ink in all of the cartridges for the printer to function or it will cause damage to ... Read More:

I use this printer at work for my own use and love it, simple to use and quick, had it running for 2 month now and know it inside out. Thinking of buying it for home use as well now.

I had to buy this to replace my Packard Bell 1200 Plus scanner as it was not compatable with Vista (sigh), and PB were not bothering to write new drivers. The canon is a lot noiser and slower than the Packard Bell, but it was very cheap and produces good results. I am quite happy with the Canon (but not Packard Bell).

I spent a lot of time reseaching before deciding on this printer. As an artist I need to send very good quality colour prints of my work to potential clients.I wanted control of this myself with out going to a printers. The printer is a good price for the excellent quality. The speed of production is good and reliable when producing say 40 or so A4 prints. The ink use is reasonable not to thirsty and over the 6 months I have had it no technical problems and I use it almost everyday.

When the time came to replace my printer I looked at the reviews and I was surprised by the adverse comments on the DX4400. Despite these I went ahead and bought it - 5 stars to Amazon for their v. fast and efficient service. The DX is a little noisier than my last Epson but nothing to complain about. Touch wood the initial cartridges are still going strong, installation was easy and | am satisfied with my purchase

I love this machine, it can do everything it says pretty much, just don't try and refill the HP cartridges yourself otherwise you may find it leaks huge black ink marks over your pretty pictures!
