I brought this iPod from another store, and adored it. It's now been passed onto my granddad who also loves it. If you need your music collection at your fingertips, buy this! At an extensive 2,500 songs and then some video to boot this really is a great little device! And so small!! I only passed this one on because I needed more GB - I watch a lot of movies, and brought the 160GB iPod Classic. But this little device is gorgeous - better in black in my opnion than any other colour (It doesn't scratch!)

Replaced an early I-Pod with this little Sony and only one word describes this, and that is fantastic!! IMO it beats the I-pod hands down.

The first thing I did after I finally got a home computer two years ago, was to read up on all the ipods available. It didn't take me long to decide on the iPod Classic from Apple and then the wait began for it's release in Australia.
Unlike others on here, I can't compare the Classic 80gb with any other ipod as this is my first, but I can say that three and a half thousand songs later (and still climbing) I can thoroughly recommend it anyone.
Many albums from my own collection have been included, plus many purchased direct from iTunes, as their sound is better than the older CD'sand you get an album cover displayed on the ipod screen.
You can of course buy songs individually if you have a mind to, although I am an album kinda ... Read More:

Creative ZEN 4GB MP3 Player
My daughter wanted an I-pod, but just seemed too much money, after a lot of investigation I picked the Zen 4GB. It works exactly how it is supposed to, installed software, plugged it into my Vista laptop, and an XP desktop PC; all works. I did check to see if firmware was up to date, all fine. The interface and controls are very easy to use, did not have to read manual, just drag and drop files into player and off you go. Movies are great, converts a 350mb AVI movie in less than 10 mins. Been over a week with constant use, no crashes or problems.

The ipod nano 3rd generation is a real disappointment. I think most of the reviews written so far have been from people who have only had their ipod for a few days. If you haven't encountered any problems yet I'm sure you will soon because all together I've had 3 ipod nanos and they have all played up and I don't think its a coincedence. At first it works fine as I'm sure everyone will agree but it gets scratched easily, freezes whenever it feels like it and on my current ipod which I have only had for about 2 months the buttons have stopped working and the ipod won't respond. The earphones work fine but apparently break easily as 2 of my friends have told me therefore I think there are more reasons NOT to buy an ipod nano than to buy one. I don't like giving ... I'm sorry but can anyone explain how to access the Internet and link up to my e mail on this stupid thing. Even in an open access wifi area, Safari won't work. It just says 'cannot link to server' I've tried it in the UK and the US - same result. Do I have a duff machine? And as for linking to my wireless router at home, it asks me for all sorts of stuff that you need a degree in computing to understand. Sorry, it really is rubbish (though a good basic MP3) and I'm sorry I bought it.

I have been unable to load up my Zen from my PC so all I have been able to use it for so far is as a very expensive fm radio! I successfully loaded the software which comes with the player onto my PC including connecting the Zen as instructed. That's where the problem stated. An Add New Hardware wizard appeared. I ran it but it ended with the message that there was a problem and the hardware could not be installed. A Found Hardware balloon then appeared to be followed by the Add Hardware wizard again. Cancelling that just led to the same circle of events happening again and again until the Zen was disconnected from the PC. Looking at the Forums it appears that many users have experienced connection and transfer problems of one sort or another and that they are down to defective ... Read More:
