I bought this as a cheap replacement for my BT150. I was very pleased with the BT150 but had lost the earloop which I couldn't find a replacement for. Frustrating since the unit works fine.
The BT2040 was interesting because it is powered by an AAAA battery, meaning that as long as you have a stock of these (say in the car) then it should never let you down.
However I am very disappointed with it. You are supposed to be able to wear it in your ear without the ear loop. However there is no way it would fit in my ear. I have small ears and the earpiece is way to big to ever stay in without the ear loop.I'm not convinced it'd stay in even if i had larger ears.
The earloop is very cheap hard plastic and unmoldable,so ... Read More:

The item information here on Amazon and the item description on the manufaturers website state that it has a FEMALE serial connector - it doesn't! They appear to have changed item spec's and it now ships with a male serial connector and NO adaptor in the pack. Be sure this is what you want before ordering.
Minor note: the included driver, needed for Windows XP use, ships on a mini-CD and these CDs should NOT be used in certain slot-loading optical drives - better to download the current driver from Targus's website.

Very nice small & light.
The problem is that it keeps falling out of your ear
There is no button ear piece to push into the ear to hold it there just a very soft rubber cover that makes it to big to fit in the ear

I have owned this product for over 2 years now and it still works really well with my laptop and friend's PC; both run on Windows-XP. Files are transferred between a range of mobile phones (Nokia, Sony-Erikson and Samsung) at good speeds.
However, the software/driver would not install on a machine with Vista. This is a bit annoying as the package should have been Vista-ready. It means that I wont be able to use it once my heavily used 4yr old XP-machine packs up.
Another tip is to remember to write down the serial number in case you lose the CD (I did) and need to reinstall (I did) as you can get the driver from Belkin (I couldn't). I found mine has worn off, probably because of constant handling.

I brought cable based on the earlier reviews and am delighted with its use. The cable is long enough to reach from the printer to my laptop, I had no issues, WinXp recognised an external USB device, I did not need any drivers, you have to configure and tell WinXP to use a USB port for the printer and what printer it is and you're done in a matter of minutes. I have had no errors since and I print large documents as a home worker and since its USB I can disconnect and plug into my Wifes PC. The cable supports all operating systems, is bidirectional, has USB on one end and centronics-36 parallel port connectort on the other and requires no external power.
