What a fabulous little piece of kit this is! New knockdown price of £45 makes it a bargain!

Follow the instructions, install software first before connecting the Zen to the PC, and once it is connected leave it there until the battery full sign appears (all explained in the instruction manual).

The accompanying software is excellent, and the sync manager is a great time saver, although that does bring me to my only negative point - 2GB simply isn't enough for your average music collection. So, you have to be selective about what you put on it - I only managed to get 456 MP3 tracks onto it alongside the pre-installed stuff......

This item is fantastic. If you want something different which looks just as a good as a apple ipod nano then the YP-S3 is for you. It has a lovely user interface that lights up when you turn it on. The touch sensitive controls are good and easy to use and the MP3 player feels good in your pocket. The sound quality is great and the battery life is good as well. All in all if your looking to break the trend from apple but want something just as good then you can't go wrong with this wonderful item. The only true downside is the lack of additional hardward that can go with this item (in comparison to Ipods)

Well its been quite a while since I "treated" myself to an ipod at Christmas and had to send it back due to unacceptable sound quality. Took the plunge with the Sony walkman 16gb version of this without Bluetooth yesterday and I have to say the difference in sound quality is quite remarkable. I have been ripping using windows media player 11 (128 bit rate windows media) and it is really excellent.

I did think when I got the ipod it was sexy but they had skimped somewhere and it was not just on the headphones. With the Walkman the first thing that I noticed was the openness and natural midrange without hint of distortion found on the ipod. the top end was also a lot cleaner and songs retain a fantastic sense of drive and realism ... Apple iPod nano 8GB green

This iPod looked dodgy ever since it came out. It looks more or less a miniature version of the ipod classic. It's just £50 than a classic. This only store 8 GB while classic store 80 GB and it has no extra features whatsoever. Finally the 4th generation is out and that can do things the classic can't so don't buy this.

I was deliberating for quite some time whether I should upgrade from my Zen Vision M to this and I am glad I did. The sound quality is astonishing. At first I thought it was the quality EP-830 headphones that come with the player but I stuck them in my old Zen and it's definitely the player!

As other people have mentioned the X-Fi feature is a gimmick. It sounds better with it switched off even after the firmware upgrade. The only reason the Zen X-Fi doesn't get 5 stars is the hefty price tag and the new 9 button interface. The loss of touch controls is a shame, especially on a player where you can potentially have hundreds of albums to scroll through. Otherwise very satisfied indeed!

Not having had an MP3 player before, I was slightly wary that this would be a lemon and the negative review from a previous purchaser nearly put me off buying this one.
We wanted a simple player that was easy to use, gave a good sound without needing to store vast numbers of tracks. The Sandisk has exceeded expectations. It is really easy to set up, has not crashed my XP2 system and the sound quality is superb. Even the FM radio quality on the stations we can receive in our poor reception area is excellent - a bonus.
I am very impressed and can recommend it unreservedly.

Creative Muvo T100 4GB MP3 Player

This is my 4th Creative player, as part of the anti ipod brigade I've always found Creative to be the best alternative. I decided to get this (my current other player is the fantastic Vision: M) purely for my (rather lengthy) commute to work. It gets thrown around in my bag so I didn't want a screen as it would only get scratched, and really, why do you need one anyway if it's not also a video player? I wanted a fair amount of memory (4 gig is plenty). I also didn't want an expensive player just in case it gets lost/stolen/dropped underneath the train.

This ticked all boxes and as an added bonus is like a little memory stick, it's tiny, easy to use and you can literally just plug it into you're PC and you're done.

I bought this with some trepidation as it was hard to find a review from someone who had actually bought and tried out this great sounding product. However, rest easy, as it does exactly what it promises. I went swimming with it on today and enjoyed listening to my favourite podcast as I ploughed up and down the pool doing my laps. It made training far less boring than it can be and also motivated me to actually go to the pool in the first place. My only problem is I must now learn how to laugh at the same time as swimming as I like to listen to comedy. You can also swap the waterproof earphones for your own regular ones in order to use it outside of the pool, and it pops in my pocket easily when I want to go for a run.
