If you seek effortless set-up and a device that works according to the manual, look elsewhere! Having spent the best part of a day trying to get this thing working, I have put it back in the box and will only retrieve it when I have been very bad and wish to punish myself! I don't understand how a product this shoddy and non-functional has survived on the market. The software doesn't work and, unless one wishes to spend ones life printing out Windows test pages (it does those perfectly but little else!)it has no place near your printer. I had hoped to be able to share my ("compatible" so Netgear assured me) device with my son but it is going to be kinder on us both for me to buy a second printer after all... It serves as a huge disincentive ... Read More:

Almost had to re-lay a new telephone extension two floors up but instead i bought this and moved my broadband modem downstairs nearer to the phone socket and the second one upstair next to my Mac, works a treat and i have both ends plugged into surge protected extension leads which it doesnt advise on the leaflet but works fine with mine. I have even tried a speed test on the broadband through the DUO which came up more then satisfactory.
Set up in 2 minutes (including walking up 2 flights of stairs)....brilliant brilliant brilliant

this is a product that either works or it doesnt; but you only know it doesnt after hours of wasted time on the phone at your own cost. The support is incredibly bad - they must get paid by how much time they keep you on the phone. after hours of failing to solve the problem they say you will get a callback but dont. In the end they blame your wiring despite the fact other products work. One tip dont phone use the email support it costs you less and you dont waste as much time.Netgear XE102 Wall-plugged Ethernet Extender Kit

I have had this a week or so an I am a little frustrated with it.
For the record I'm using this on NTL/Virgin with a Vista box.
It's small, light and stylish. None of these are important to me.
Set up was virtually unneccessary, just plugged it in and it ran first time. The only thing I did was to change the password (always recommended). All was great. Then I inserted to the CD that came with it to see what else I could do. The wizard ran and after about the fifth screen internet connection was dropped. Couldn't get it back. Tried the hardware reset on back. Didn't seem to work. Tried the software reset and that did work. Happy, or so I thought.
Now every time I power up, connection is made very quickly, and is there ... Read More:

This card is notorious for poor performance and system lock ups. It has particular problems with MSI motherboards and AMD processors. With the netlink software installed it would take 30-60 seconds to decide it couldnt connect to my network then change its mind and conect me with frequent drops.
When this card was installed my system would randomly hang with no explanation, it was only after i looked into the card itself that i found that this was a common problem.
Have replaced with an edimax card which im glad to say is working well.

Looking to extend you're wireless coverage at home? I was running a Netgear wireless DG834PN Rangemax MIMO-G router in a 3 storey victorian house. Coverage was good on the ground floor but pretty weak on the top floor (about 1 bar out of 5 but occasionally zero). Looked into options: bigger antena (aparently pretty useless); run ethernet cable to an access point on the top floor; Netgear Powerline range extender (but was unsure about wiring/circuits at home); and using TWO access points. We went for the last option and now have 4 out of 5 reception on the top floor, into the garden and down the street!
The first access point is connected to the router by a short ethernet cable. Access point 2 is plugged into the mains on the first floor, and connects by wirless ... Read More:

Purchased in December ( - for twice as much!).
It's fast and quick to connect, and topping up is easy by buying your top up voucher as you would for your phone. Bonus that the '3' network is pre-pay, no contract!! Just £10 for a months use when you want is pretty cheap!
It's perfect for in the CITIES. Though, it consistently failed to connect in MANY small towns in Cornwall and Scotland, which made buying it for travelling about the UK a bit pointless (- as in the big cities there were cheap wifi cafes anyway!) Make sure you thoroughly check the coverage in the area you are going to use it to get good value!
I bought this fax modem to use on my new Dell computer with Widows Vista Home Basic 32BIT. I followed all the instructions. It was recognized by Windows Vista as a modem. I then followed the instructions and installed its fax software called FaxTalk Communicator. But I was unable to send faxes. whenever I tried to send one a message came up: 'This print operation requires that fax talk Call Control is running'.
I contacted Company Technical Support and followed all their instructions. I also uninstalled and reinstalled all software again and again and still got same problems!
Strangelly enough I was getting messages offering me to upgrade for better FaxTalk Communicator software and pay for that of course!
I bought it for the porpuse of using ... Read More:

I had some difficulty installing the driver for it. Basically, the auto setup does not install the driver properly - as a result, Windows XP fails to recognize it. However, when I selected the driver from KG54L folder of the CD manually, then driver was installed properly.
After that it works fine so far. I have kept the WiFi router in 2nd floor and it happily picks up signal in my computer in 1st floor. Speed is also good. Also, it works in USB 1.0/1.1 as well without problem.
Sometimes after re-starting the computer connection does fail, however, simply refreshing the network connections and re-connecting does establish the link again.
I re-installed the client software and deleted it as it was useless.

Solid weighty product that does exactly what you think it should. Successfully connects up the BT Home Hub, PC, Mac and Network HDD. Cant really fault it!
