OK, it looks good in the office or lounge but that's not much good if it doesn't do 'what it says on the tin'...

Beware #1. Some legacy equipment which does not like wireless being broadcast in 802.11n (as I found with my wi-fi radio) MAY NOT WORK with this router/modem. There is NO OPTION to broadcast in just 11g or 11b+g - it's '11b+g+n' or nothing!

Beware #2. If you plan on using this router/modem to access your office VPN from home, it MAY NOT WORK! I suggest researching this carefully first.

Beware #3. In response to some simple questions, Belkin live customer support were of no help whatsoever.

Having bought two of these for a home system (instead of the 8 port version), the unit does what is says on the data sheet. Why buy? well, the purchase was on the basis of reliable use of these units for commerical purposes over many years.

It is not the cheapest five port unit you can get, and it still needs to use an external power supply (internal would be better, but that costs more - see the 8-port version).

Using its 1GBit LAN has allowed a home 1GBit NAS to be more of a pleasure to use.

Any units now purchased come with a lifetime warranty (two years for the external PSU) - lifetime support is what consumers want.

Everything is fine untill pc/modem is rebooted, when it would not pick up internet connection, only local network.

Linksys tried to blame my ISP, my PC, my Firewall.... everything except their product.

3 X 1 hours phone calls later and the technicians finally decided it was faulty and "allowed" a return back to Amazon.

Don't waste your time, go for Netgear.

Dispatched and received in 3 days. Product matches D-Link DI-655 N-Gigabit router. The performance improvement over my previous DI-624 router is remarkable when accessing t'internet. It is linked to the latest Virgin Media ethernet broadband router (20 Mbit connection). How can anyone beat the 11 year warranty? My last router was 3 years old and still going but who knows what the next 3 years will bring in technology changes, let alone 11. Still, it's a good selling point. I have a medium sized house built with real bricks, not the cardboard walls that most modern houses have. The improvement in signal dead spots is achieved only when running in "N" mode which requires "N" adapters on all PCs and laptops connecting wirelessly. There is a marginal improvement ... I Have been though 2 of these modems now. I dont know what am doing wrong they just both just seemed to die during power cuts and when i try and turn them bk on the DSL light wont appear,The modem finds the USB and ETHERNET port but no DSL, I have spent 70 on this product and dont recomend buying it

I bought this wireless nic to do a simple job, installed the drivers like the manual said and it completly messed up my PC.

Took me some time to undo its damage, then when I fit the card it decides it will develop a fault and not work anyway.

Im going to send it back and get a different make as this has to be one of the worst NICs I have ever used.

NETGEAR get a grip and stop selling junk
