Quality control at the Romanian factory where these things are made isn't quite up to par, with the result that I'm currently waiting for my third exchange in less than four months.

The first one started buzzing like an angry wasp after a few weeks.
The second had unacceptable large visible marks within the lcd panel.
The third has broken energy saving features and will not go into standby mode.

The amount of money I've lost through missed work, waiting in / trying to resolve these issues has added up to more than the cost of the original purchase.

I cannot recommend that anybody buys one of these.
Spend your hard-earned money on a different one.

like many others i was going to buy the Samsung SM226BW 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor untill i read the reviews on the screen issues and im so glad i made the decision to buy this LG. I upgraded from a samtron 19"crt 98pdf(samsung).

On arrival, my monitor had disintegrated into three pieces. The electronics, the screen and the front bezel. The Samsung build quality must be good because I was able to re-assemble the bits. None of the spring clips had broken. The monitor worked OK. There is no way of knowing whether City Link had dropped it or if it got bashed earlier in its journey. It might even have been assembled incorrectly in the first place. The female City-Link delivery driver was fine and took proper care. Amazon and the monitor should get five stars but I have given only two because the shippers broke it.
