Well I bought one of these after reading the reviews. Have used Belkin before and I have previously been very happy with them.
This time things are different though.
I have installed the device exactly as directed and connected a HP multi function printer along with an external hard disk. I have one computer directly connected to the router, and a second laptop which connects wirelessly.
The printer seems to work fine, and the hard disk works fine on the computer directly connected to the router. But whenever I try to use the laptop it just freezes half way through any disk operations and causes windows explorer to stop responding. the only way to recover is to turn the disk off whereupon I get a warning ... Having recived this card I now realise this is two port SATA card. One of the ports can be connected internerally or externally. The "fourth" port is an IDE port.
i got this piece of kit a few days ago and it is fantastic it works its simple it comes with software and easy to set up i recommend this item to everyone who just needs a cheap good working modem. p.s it doesn't work on vista!
Works like a mobile phone - can use it anywhere (well it is possible to do so, but I wouldn't bank on it, it depends on the signal strength which is not that good) and can top up each month at differing rates according to your usage. In that respect it is flexible. HOWEVER - it does not always get a signal, crashes out regularly, and is SLOW, sometimes VERY SLOW, slower than dial up even. It all depends on the signal which is not strong and can be affected by atmoshperic conditions, whether the dongle is placed low or high (high seems best), whether a flea burps or the cat sneezes within thirty feet of it, a feather blows in the breeze down the road, or a car backfires in the next village, etc.

The device turned up today and it's tiny, I was impressed until I stuck it in the USB port of my laptop and it protruded further than I expected.
The device works fine, installed easy (Vista, I didn't even touch the included CD)
Connected to my phone and shortly a BT mouse.
4 stars because it was cheep and ideal but on reflection the round edged versions may have been better because they won't get knocked about as much.
Anyways good product - does what it says on the tin.

If you seek effortless set-up and a device that works according to the manual, look elsewhere! Having spent the best part of a day trying to get this thing working, I have put it back in the box and will only retrieve it when I have been very bad and wish to punish myself! I don't understand how a product this shoddy and non-functional has survived on the market. The software doesn't work and, unless one wishes to spend ones life printing out Windows test pages (it does those perfectly but little else!)it has no place near your printer. I had hoped to be able to share my ("compatible" so Netgear assured me) device with my son but it is going to be kinder on us both for me to buy a second printer after all... It serves as a huge disincentive to ever go near ... Read More:

This will only fully work with Vista. They state that as long as you have service pack three with XP it works but it will only then work with all the security turned off. Also the customer service Bombay department have little care and even less English which is of little use when trying to discuss technical issues.
I was so disappointed I've sent it back for a refund. I gave it one star because you cannot use zero stars.

Looking to extend you're wireless coverage at home? I was running a Netgear wireless DG834PN Rangemax MIMO-G router in a 3 storey victorian house. Coverage was good on the ground floor but pretty weak on the top floor (about 1 bar out of 5 but occasionally zero). Looked into options: bigger antena (aparently pretty useless); run ethernet cable to an access point on the top floor; Netgear Powerline range extender (but was unsure about wiring/circuits at home); and using TWO access points. We went for the last option and now have 4 out of 5 reception on the top floor, into the garden and down the street!
The first access point is connected to the router by a short ethernet cable. Access point 2 is plugged into the mains on the first floor, and connects by wirless to ... Read More:
