Apple - Video adapter - mini-DVI to VGA

I chose this adapter over its DVI brother as I wasn't sure if my external monitor supported DVI-D. The large end of the cable plugs into the VGA cable coming from your monitor - it's essentially an extension cable. Once connected the Mac recognises it straight away. Uncheck 'mirror image' and drag the open windows onto the external monitor for best performance. You can also choose where you want the menu bar and dock, either on Mac display or external monitor, regardless of where you have your open windows. All in all a great product.

This is a clever multifunctional device. It can be used to extend your existing 'n' network, it can be connected via a USB port to allow wireless printing from all your computers around the house, and it can stream music from i-tunes when connected to powered speakers.

Unlike other reviewers, I had no problems setting this up, or updating the hardware. In my installation it's wirelessly linked to an Apple Time Capsule which is used the the 'n' base station - linked by cable to a router. The AP Express is by my printer and provides access to network printing. It's also linked to a stereo system and will play i-tunes tracks from any computer on my normal stereo.

I'm a Sony boy, so when I decided that I wanted a HDD music system, this was the obvious choice. I was looking for a decent HDD capacity, obviously a good sound, a DAB radio and a system that looks well in the living room.

This piece of kit delivers on all four of those, so it does the job, but its not all plain sailing. I've not explored the full features of this system yet so this is not a full review, but there's certainly a few things I think people need to consider before purchasing one.

Belkin Headphone Splitter

Went for Belkin thinking the quality would be higher. It works perfectly well but it's very bulky and looks like something you could pick up on a market. There is no Belkin branding on the item (only on the box).

I completely recommend this card, but want to offer my story to give guidance to others.

I bought this card to replace my 54Mbps Cable & Wireless card, as I wanted faster connectivity.

When I first installed the card, using the installation CD it comes with, there were two options:-

1.) Use the Netgear Smartwizard. (recommended)
2.) Let Microsoft Windows configure the card.

I chose the option that was highlighted as being recommended, Netgear, but in doing this upon "successful" installation, I had no IP address, but somehow I was still accessing the internet, then it kept crashing and then eventually it didn't work. TP-Link TL-WN510G 54Mbps PCMCIA Wireless LAN Cardbus

I have been using this card for three months now, since the built in network card on my Acer aspire 1640 packed in, and have never had a single problem with this product since then. I use Ubuntu Linux 8.04 (Hardy Heron) on my laptop and did not even have to install any drivers, however I have also installed it on my XP machine and I would recommend just installing the drivers and forgetting about the TP-Link software. This is because the microsoft windows network manager is much better than the one supplied with this card.
Overall, this card is very good value for money, well made and ideal for Linux users.

Netgear WG111T 108Mbps Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter

Have been using this adapter on a desktop pc with windows XP and the standard extension cable for over a year with no problems. Installed the software on two desktops and it worked fine with both, talking to the netgear router it came bundled with. Since we upgraded to WPA encryption, I needed to purchase another for a second desktop machine, as the old card couldn't support higher encryption. After much deliberation, I opted again for this adapter. I've just plugged it straight in with the existing software from the previously purchased adapter and its working fine.

It sounds like the more recent problems people have had are because of drivers. I've not had that because I'm using the software I installed about 18 months ago, rather than the ... Read More:

D-Link DSM-330 DivX Connected Wireless HD Media Player

I bought this to replace the DSM-320 and it is worlds better. The user interface is great - and faster. Playback was an issue with the 320 - on the 330 its smooth as silk and the quality is much better too. I'm impressed - and for £99 this is a bargain. The only surprise was that its not UPnP compatible - but DivX Connected software works just fine.

I bought this modem router to upgrade from my old Belkin G model, to enjoy the fantastic increase in speed(?). The setup disk wouldn't run and the manual setup wouldn't work. I tried it on a laptop and eventually managed to run the setup routine but still no wireless. Another laptop - nothing. I phoned the free customer support helpline to be told the line was busy, ring back later. I did - same thing. And again, got a call centre in India. One hour and fifteen minutes later I was told the router was not working and I should return it for an exchange. Well I will return it, but for a refund. I'll go back to Belkin - better the devil you know.

Wow! Following the other reviews for this product, I can only confirm that it is really, really good. I took the advice of one reviewer and simply loaded the wireless lan drivers and nothing else. Found my SKY Broadband, typed in the network key and voila! That's it. No fuss. It also seems a faster connection than my wireless laptop. Very pleased with item and good delivery and packaging.
