At the time I write this review this printer is far cheaper when bought direct from Amazon rather than from third parties on the website.
I've not had one of these little photo printers before, and have spent plenty of time wrestling with full size printers trying to get them to print photos the way I want. I'm very pleased with how easy things are on the PictureMate. Very quick to set up, and quick and clean to load the ink cartridge. The printer just accepts images from memory cards, computer, or camera without any fuss - it would be hard to go wrong. The photos were very good quality 'straight from the box' but it pays to also have a look at the menu options listed in the printed manual. You can make your photos a bit sharper ... Read More:

This printer looks very stylish and has a quality, solid presence and feel. It is quite heavy and perhaps larger than you might be expecting, so check the dimensions suit your space. I've only just bought the printer so can't comment on longer-term use, but my first impressions are very favourable. The print quality is excellent, it is quiet and amply fast for my low volume use. I've only given it four stars because the driver installation was unneccessarily complicated. I followed the instructions to the letter, but the setup failed three times. In desperation, I decided to let Windows do it itself (new software found wizard), and it worked perfectly, and simply, first time. The driver I selected was for Windows 2000-Vista and covers XP. A lot ... Read More:

I have owned this printer for nearly a year, using it to produce upto A3+, colour and black and white prints that I sell. The bottom line? The printer delivers superb quality images that are unrivalled by many other printers.
However, as the other reviewer has said I do have a few niggles! Firstly, the printer does tend to over saturate colours, particularly the reds, so prints are slightly warmer when produced straight out of the box as it were. However, this is easily changed by playing with the intensity, contrast and colour controls. You also need to experiment with a range of papers to find what works best - canon premium matte is very good as are the Ilford papers - however, certain Epson papers can also work perfectly well. I got this printer because I was fed up with frequent (and hence expensive) ink cartridge replacements for my Epson inkjet, that also gummed up if they weren't used for a week. All can say is this printer is excellent for the money, wish I'd bought one sooner. HP still make the best lasers. You can now get this machine for £100 if you shop around.
It's relatively quick for colour, quiet, and the prints are superb quality. Text and graphics are excellent, photographs not quite so good.
But like everything in life, it's not perfect:
For a so called 'compact' printer, its bulky, it auto self calibrates quite regularly - but you can change calibration settings in the driver setup, and the on/off switch is at the back ... Read More:

I bought this for work, we use a lot of photographic evidence, it does indeed pass through the printer 4 times, the pictures are fine but takes forever when you're printing lots of photos. Take my advice and use your pc printer.
