I don't know how well this works with other cameras, but it's absolutely fine with Canons. I bought this for my good lady wife who is about as IT averse as it's possible to be and still use email, and she loves it. You plug the camera into the Selphy, choose the pics you want to print, and print them. They look exactly the same as the ones from Jessops or Tesco, and they cost about the same as well, i.e. about 20p per 6x4 print, but of course you only print the ones you really like. Because it's dye-sublimation with a 50-pic casette already loaded, you can leave it as long as you like between prints and it still works, unlike ink-jets which have to be used regularly or the jets block up. Got this for christmas and i love it! The photos are EX quality, the machine is so neat and the price is great! However it probably is cheaper to go into a store and get print offs there if you intend to print a lot off, as the paper i believe i can be rather expensive.

My second Canon printer, and one that is in heavy use due to my job as an adult education tutor. The printer was easy to install and has operated for over 6 months with no problems. The only slight annoyances are that a)the paper rest drops down readily unless held back by a cable looped round one corner, b) the on-off button and the restart button are right next to each other and almost invisible, being black-on-black and c) like my last Canon, if a sheet of paper doesn't drop clear on printing, the rollers will snatch it back up as they rewind and inevitably crease it!

Currently (August 14 2008) the HP Datasheet for this machine shows a maximum custom print capability of 330 x 2540mm. However, the supplied printer driver only permits a maximum of 330 x 482mm. Please note that the displayed maximum print length of 2540mm is incorrect. This is not the fault of Amazon.co.uk , who are reliant on information provided by manufacturers.
