I bought this to improve the data shifting capabilities of my PC. Coupled with 2 1Gb sticks of DDR800 memory and an MSI K9N V3 motherboard (also highly recommended), this now gives me excellent all round performance. In particular, anything that involves plenty of data movement like PhotoShop and AutoCAD really excels. The reason I chose this particular AMD X2 processor is because the CPU's internal memory controller divides exactly (by 7) to access the DDR800 RAM at bang on 800MHz. This yields memory access speeds some 50% faster than my E6300 C2D system (which is disadvantaged by having to use a "middleman" memory controller in the Intel Northbridge).
Using AMD Cool and Quiet, the processor remains really cool in all tasks, and the included ... Read More:
