Creative I Trigue 3000 Speakers

These elegant speakers were exactly what I was looking for.

They look spectacular, and The subwoofer can fit in even the smallest of spaces. Their sound quality too is also pretty good. The bass is bassy and the whole unit hasn't had any difficulty in playing any Techno/Drum & Bass, however, I am only comparing that to my old speakers (they came with my computer). These also can play very loudly without distortion, however, they are in quite a small room so in larger ones, this could be different. The volume controller, too, is great, however it feels like it could break when I turn it around. - requires usb connection as well as headphone jack so lots of wires
- wire connecting speakers together is quite short (about 23 inches) so they cant go very far apart
- no extra/separate volume control for speakers
- no warranty...

+ great sound quality (from music at 128 or 160kbps, joint stereo, on my computer)
+ full, rich and loud with good bass (though no bass boost - so not for those of you who want to make the floor vibrate!)
+ ideal for laptops, mp3 players etc
+ cute and stylish design
+ simply to connect and use, just plug in and go!
+ fast delivery ( i ordered late on wed night and they arrived on fri morning {suppliers- the sharper edge})

Altec Lansing MX5021

After reading all the reviews (particularly the 'one star' review) here and on the Internet I decided to go ahead and order these speakers.

They arrived today and were quickly set up. They are superb! Top high-fi quality at last. I have a separate hi-fi set-up with an expensive pre-amplifier and amplifier feeding two speakers which cost me well over a thousand pounds several years ago, but these 2.1 Altec Lansings fed from my laptop equal them at a fraction of the cost.

The negative review by Orpheus above, with respect, shows a lack of understanding of sub-woofers (quote: "Altec Lansing could do the decent thing and magnetically shield the sub-woofer so that it can go anywhere"). Does anyone know of a top-class sub-woofer ... Read More:

Labtec Pulse 475 Speakers

Fantastic value at the price. These speakers produce good low and mid range noise. The treble comes out slightly high, but this can always be tweaked in winamp or similar.

Contrary to above, I think the speakers look nice!
The sub is nice and solid looking, and the whole package is of very high quality.

If I'd paid £50 for these I still would have been happy.

Highly recommended

These speakers looked great. Volume was a little lower that I would have hoped for but in the end I had to return them because of a very noticeable mains hum. Maybe I was just unlucky but I will probably try some Creative or Logitech ones instead.

I already own a Logitech Audiostation (the forerunner to this model). I tried this model out in the shops the other day and the new model is definitely as good - probably better sound and more features - better remote for a start.

Don't waste your money on Bose or even Apple equivalents, this might be cheaper, however the sound quality is superior. Don't believe me - go and try them somewhere with your ipod and music. Check reviews on ilounge dot com and see that the Logitech speaker systems are respected and the best in the price range.

Really good for the money, i only had the built in speakers in my laptop but these make listening to music much better and the sub woofer is pretty powerful. Instuctions werent the clearest but i figured it out and they work great! Like I said not bad speakers for the price
