Easy peasy DV video capture from my Sony Handycam to the PC. Delivery was swift, card was true 'plug n play' and I was editing videos in a matter of minutes. The Ulead software seems good although I've not done much with it yet. Good value all round for £15 (inc p & p).

Belkin USB 7-Port Economy Hub

Well, like the title says, this is a USB 1.1 hub, unless none of the USB gadgets you are going to plug in are data intensive this is a good hub.
Basically, this hub is good for mouse, keyboard, usb fans, usb remote etc. kind of equipment; if you are thinking of plugging in data intensive enquipment like hard drives, usb flash drives, just forget this hub.
If you use this hub to plug in a hard drive into your computer, then data read/write speed will be very low; USB2 has been out for quite a while now. So do yourself a favour and get a USB2 hub, there are a couple nice ones here on Amazon's site, same price.

Nisis 3 port PCI Firewire Card

This is gret. A nice cheap and cheerful firewire card bought to work with an external hard-drive.

Installed automatically fine - which I was concerned about as I run XP-64 bit, for which there are notoriously few drivers.

Connects fine - time will tell whether it lasts though.

TeckNet VS403 USB to Serial Port Adapter - USB to RS232 Interface Adapter Black

Delivery was good. Ordered late Wednesday night, on my doorstep in a jiffy bag 2nd class post Saturday morning.
The wire I received was about 1m long, but came with no driver CD.
The USB chip is Prolific PL-2303, and 5 seconds of Google will result in a driver download from Prolific's webpage, so the lack of CD didn't bother me.
Worked fine with my GPS device on XP.

Apparently, USB-serial cables are a bit hit and miss when it comes to connecting the Psion Series 5MX 16MB to your PC. I have a VAIO running XP and this cable worked so I've resurrected my Psion after all these years in the attic.

Following up on an earlier review of mine (which seems to have disappeared) the card slotted into an old Asus P4 motherboard and was recognised immediately by XP. No additional drivers required. Worked fine for me with a Sony Mini DV camera (Firewire port) and various USB devices plugged into the USB ports (cameras, mice, etc.)

One point worth bearing in mind (and the reason I'm only giving it 4 stars) is that the internal USB socket, the 5 pin header next to it, and the topmost USB socket on the back plate are all connected to just one USB port. Although it is sold as a 5 port card, there are only 4 independent USB ports. If you are in any doubt, just look up the specification of the VT6214L chip that the card uses - it's a 4 ... Read More:

After buying a useless KVM from ebay a few years ago, I had some trepadation about this unit. I am however, very pleased so far.

The USB switching can take a few seconds sometimes, but this is small price to pay.

I have not yet tried the audio sharing but the video output is identical to what it was before the switch was fitted, and this is with an 8 foot vga cable I have to use on one pc.

It feels quite solid and well made.
